Predict Kim's results season 05 - no 1

Finally we're able to resume our new CCL contest that I started for Hasselt.

As from now on, for every tournament Kim will be playing in, I'd like to put this contest up.

The idea is to predict Kim's end result in the tournament.

To make it more fun (and keep you all posting ), we'll keep track of the CCLers who have the best foresight as they'll be in the running for the CCL Forecaster title, each time collecting the best of 10 forecasts.

Let's start with our contest no 1:
--------------------------------

Please do not forget to post your comments too in order to be in the running for the contest.

Posts will be valid till Tuesday, the 15th of February, until 5 PM (CET).

Good luck!

CCL FORECASTER 2005 - CONTEST NO 1:

What will be Kim's result in Antwerp?

a) she'll win
b) she'll end up in the final
c) semis
d) sorry, not further than QF
e) eh, none of the above

I think Kim will be the runner up at this tournament. Of course I hope she'll win it, but she doesn't have a lot of matches under her belt.
We'll see how far she goes, but this time I've voted for the 'runner up'

Kasey, aren't you going to participate in this contest???

Hope she'll win the Diamond Games but I guess it 'll end in the quarters...

But it's better to start not to drastic with many matches I think

My guess is that if she plays Venus in the 1/4s she'll lose. If its not Venus, I think she could get to the 1/2s.................

Patiently waiting to join the silver surfers

I am going to be not only realistic but just not too hopeful and just wishing kim to enjoy being back, nothing else. I don't see her beating Venus in the QF should she win the 1st 2 rounds. But I am waiting to be proved wrong ONce she has played a match or two we might have an idea of how well she can do, but we have to be patient for her to come back to the top! go Kim!!!

The other factor that might go for her, is the fact she has nothing to loose, she's been out of the tour for a year and she's eager to play... Can that have an effect on her opponent? I don't know...

I think kim will reach the quarters. would absolutely love her to go further but i think lack of match practise could be a deciding factor. Go for gold kim!!

Kim Clijsters!

Your opponent is not the person on the other side of the net, or the team on the other end of the field, or even the bar you must high-jump. Your opponent is yourself - your negative internal waves, your level of determination.

I voted e I think maybe round 2, had Kim had this draw in two months time I'd have siad QF or SF but it is her first tournament so I'm thinking Petrova has an edgein match toughness right now. Kostanic will be tough to she isn't a present, Kim will have to play well. I wouldn't be surprised if Kim made the QF though. But as it is her first tournament I'm going to be conservative with my prediction but that isn't cause I don't believe in Kim, but you guys know that anyway

I'm afraid she won't make it past her two first matches But if she stays healthy during the next couple of months she'll rise quickly

I think everytime Kim plays a tournament we all hope she's gonna win it, but I'm gonna start slowly this year, and say, 1/4 finals, getting past Kostanic and Petrova would already be very good IMO!

COME ON KIM!

Thanks for everything Kim!!!

Well as long as she does her best it'll be ok ! But I think she has a lot of catching up to do in terms of the level of women's tennis! It's a Russian Revolution out there and to add a little more spice the Williams' sisters are said to be back in complete form again, so I think her best bet is the Quaters !

umm... it's very difficult to predict kim's result in antwerp. I think she will beat kostanic but after that i can't predict it. She has just recovered, so i think it's hard to win many matches.

I'm going with the majority here: quarters - and I even think that's optimistic. Kostanic hasn't done well yet this year, so that should be possible. Petrova will be a lot harder, although she's not very consistent. But Venus will probably be too much ...

Oh well, as long as Kim can come back injury free
