New contest in CCL: Predict Kim's results- no 1

Dear CCLers,

I love this place thanks to everyone's contributions but I also find that we could use some more sparkling stuff in here, and I'd love to see some more participation/friendly discussions going on.

So I have been thinking and thinking...
have been drinking lots and lots of ...
drank all the I could find...
then got into ...
did a raid on my ...

And...

I'd figured it was time again to help things a bit with

a brand new contest I'd like to kick off with:

as from now on, for every tournament Kim will be playing in, I'd like to put this contest up.

The idea is to predict Kim's end result in the tournament.

To make it more fun (and keep you all posting ), we'll keep track of the CCLers who have the best foresight as they'll be in the running for the CCL Forecaster title, each time collecting the best of 10 forecasts.

Let's start with our contest no 1:
--------------------------------

Please do not forget to post your comments too in order to be in the running for the contest.

Posts will be valid till Monday the 27th of September.

Good luck!

-------------------------------

CCL CONTEST NO 1:

What will be Kim's result in Hasselt?

a) she'll win
b) she'll end up in the final
c) semis
d) sorry, not further than QF
e) eh none of the above

Hmm, this is a tough one Ingrid, because probably for the first time since I've been a Kim fan, its not really possible to predict her form or take her old consistency for granted!

My heart goes with a win, but my head is going for semis!

(but if I'd imbibed as much as you obviously have, I'd be going for an outright win )

Great thread idea, oh great one!!

That's tough Ing, coz in here are all Kim's fans so guess they are hoping to to get the title so that's tough.

I think she'll do like Serena Williams did in Miami

I think she'll make it to the semi's. It seems to be a strong field for a tier 3(?) title, and I think she might have been out of the game a bit too long to make it through to the final

A tough one. Kim's form is a big mistery by now... Well, I think it's possible for her to get to the final (and better)
Fingers crossed

the more careful approach! (for once you can, next tournament I won't give a chance anymore )

Nah, I don't know yet either, but my assumption so far is that she should be in the QFs though. If I'm correct, than this would mean one win.
I know, I'm very careful , but then, we know zero about how she's going to adapt to a real tournament again, after these months of enforced resting.

I'm considering on the up side that:
- she's very hungry again
- she's always even more on fire when playing for a home crowd
- moreover, the combination of these points might be an extra + even more
- she's been training hard, and even might have made some improvements in her game (think of the interview with her coach)
- she's rested while the rest of the top players (quite some for a tier 3 btw) are probably not entirely so

On the down side:
- she's soooo out of match rhythm, the rhythm she needs so badly for her game
- isn't she going to fire all in her first match due to her hunger, risking to be out of steam by the final?
- how uncertain is she going to be on court by the lack of match experience lately?
- how is she going to deal with the pressure again (from herself because she wants to win there of course, from all the people there wanting her to be in that final and taking the title and all..., from everyone asking her for this or that interview and what not else -sponsors and the lot- during the week she's there)?

I sincerely hope and wish she'd be back with a fantastic win, grabbing the title and all, and all under 60 minutes each LOL, preferably double bagelling Dementieva and all she is encountering on the road to victory, but I'll be more than glad if she will be in the semis. I trust we can hope for a QF though, one win for starters should be very feasible.

I'm sure I'll have to buy someone a drink if Kim is in the final though as I've been saying to a friend that she was waayyy too optimistic to buy tickets for the final. Let's see who is right (hopefully for my wallet it's me , but for all of us I sooo hope Kim would be holding the trophy!)

Anyway, GO Kim! We've missed you way too long!

great idea Ingrid!!!
I really don't know what to expect! In a way I don't even want to think about a semifinal, because if Kim loses right away (which is off course possible after a long break like this) I would be so disappointed!!!
Just hope Kim doesn't overdo things too much, be carefull Kimmie!!!
and just like some others, I'll wait a couple days to vote, until the draw is out

COME ON KIM!

Thanks for everything Kim!!!

I think Kim is totally capable of winning the title, though I don't know if she will. It all depends on a lot of things but she always comes back (from injuries) pretty good I reckon...just a bit rusty, and shrugs it off after like 2 matches

Anyway this is a looong 6 months(?) off tennis and maybe it'll take her a little bit longer to adjust.
I wouldn't put Kim no chance getting in the final though! I think she can do it
