Re: 2017 Europe/Africa Zone Group III

Late withdrawals were Montenegro, Botswana, Namibia and Angola. Shame for Montenegro because they actually have two decent professionals in Kovinic and Veselinovic.

Cameroon's first time playing since 1997 and Kenya's first time since 2013. Angola will also make debut if they send a team.

Many teams without their "star" players here. No Ibbou for Algeria, no Amiraghyan for Armenia, no Perper, Detiuc or Vdovenco for Moldova..

Three top 200 players in Gjorcheska, Grammatikopoulou and Jabeur. The two promoted teams will most likely come from this group unless their key players don't play or are in the same groups.

Re: 2017 Europe/Africa Zone Group III

Kosovo have added Liridona Murati and Adrijana Lekaj ().

Looks like Murati is a Swedish player and Lekaj is a Croatian player. Just noticed Lekaj now represents Kosovo in ITF too!

Re: 2017 Europe/Africa Zone Group III

Pool C is tough (apart from Cameroon), Pool B has no stronger teams, Greece and Moldova are basically locks for play off.

Re: 2017 Europe/Africa Zone Group III

Gjorcheska is out for Macedonia, Pool C is now between Tunisia and Finland.

Pool A should be Greece, Pool D should be Moldova and Pool B is anyone's guess

Re: 2017 Europe/Africa Zone Group III

Apart from Perper, Moldova's team is really weak Perper has been in horrible form as well. Wouldn't be surprised if maybe Morocco came out of that group but it's unlikely I guess.

Pool A, Grammatikopoulou should lead Greece to easy win.
Pool B will probably see maybe Cyprus come out because Ireland have fielded a weak team this year. Ireland have Jenny Claffey and Sinead Lohan who are capable of winning titles on ITF circuit but none of them are playing this The Cypriot girls should be decent enough juniors to beat them.
Pool C will be Tunisia v Finland. Actually tough to call cause I'm not sure if Jabeur can singlehandely carry Tunisia, because Finland have Suomalainen and Laine who are quite experienced, Eklund is a decent doubles player and Orpana is a junior on the rise. Jabeur should win her singles but it will come down to the 2nd singles and doubles rubbers.
Pool D as I said before should be between Morocco and Moldova.

Re: 2017 Europe/Africa Zone Group III

Greece won their group. Finland practically have aswell so those two will face off for promotion.

Cyprus/Ireland will play Moldova/Morocco in the other one. Hopefully Moldova can get through at home.

Re: 2017 Europe/Africa Zone Group III

Surprised Finland beat Tunisia Poor Ons... she's such a proud tunisian but she's just a bad dubs player Greece should win promotion rather easy.

With a better team, with like Vdovenco, Moldova would have had no problem promoting. Still think they are strong enough with Perper to make it
