Re: Rankings 2016-2017

The preseason team rankings look like they actually put some thought into it this year (as opposed to basically just copying last seasons final rankings).

There are also only 25 ranked now...too lazy to look it up, but wondering if this will be the case all season?

Re: Rankings 2016-2017

The new rankings are out. The only difference from last time is that supporters of Mississippi, Kansas and Wake Forest saw them as wasted votes and voted for a ranked team instead.

Re: Rankings 2016-2017

Massive shake-up this week as teams in the 21-25 bracket are shuffled and the voters evict Virginia from the rankings.

When are they going to fire up the computer? This is getting old.

How's the computer going to do rankings when lots of teams haven't even played a match yet?

Better question is why they keep publishing weekly rankings - they should've probably waited until at least next week for the first one...

Meanwhile, the USTA revealed that they will start their own college rankings. The first poll will come out February 8.

Extended to 50 (not 75, will they extend again?). Miami and Mississippi State fall out altogether.

I don't know how UCLA jumped into the top 10 but I'll take it.

These rankings piss off the Cards, which is part of the reason they have more to prove at NCAA's with their #10 to #15 ranking...
