2016 Dual match results discussions

I thought it would be nice to post reactions from interested dual matches going on before the NCAA's. I don't pay too much attention to the other teams beside my gator girls. Today they took on USC Trojans at home.

A #3 UF vs #4 USC turned out to be a 7-0 win for Florida. On the UF side, I am guess Peggy has regressed further since her freshmen year? She was also once ranked #1 recruit last year so not sure what's going on there. She wasn't even in the lineup.

UF has nice depth this year. They're my pick to win it all. They have Porter and Liang on the bench. They only graduate Morgan this year and they have a great recruit coming in.

Not too surprised to see UF cruise like that. USC isn't the same team and have no guaranteed point (which they had 2-3 every match last year).

Does no one has anything to add about your interested dual match results?

Today UF took on Baylor with a 4-0 sweep with wins from the Sophomores. Austin, Danilina, and Kuhlman won their singles matches after the team secured the doubles point. Just another day in the office for UF.

Got to attend the Ohio State vs. Vanderbilt match and that was a tight one. Will be writing about it soon. Match was up and down, Colton losing it again. Gotta feel for her.

I expect these two to face off deep at NCAAs. They bring out the best in each other. Only a few points separated each team.

oh wow vandy losing again? I know Ohio has Di Lorenzo to anchor, but how deep is their lineup?

They're missing Sandy Niehaus due to injury, but I think they're a Top 5 team and it'll come true next week. Their 6 is Olivia Sneed, who I think is one of the best 6s in the country. Really underrated and doesn't have the typical backboard game 6 game. Their doubles lineup is pretty strong and with DiLorenzo at 1 is a near-guaranteed point. Kowase and Angeles Paz at 4-5 is a strong duo too. Hopefully they can continue the momentum and get their 1st Big 10 title!

Re: 2016 Dual match results discussions

Meanwhile UF continues their ruthless streak of blanking their opponents (if not using Liang or Porter that is...), this time # 22 Clemson bowed down to a 7-0 gator win. Notable wins include #19 Austin dismantling #11 Joana Eidukonyte 6-0, 6-2 while Morgan & Danilina sitting pretty @ #5 and #6 singles winning their matches easily. They are looking fab so far!

I wonder how they will do in next weekend's road swing at the west coast against newly crowned national indoor champ Cal & Stanford. Any thoughts?

UF is good at all 6 positions. They will beat both Stanford and Cal. The score will be closer against Cal.

Miho Kowase sounds familiar... didn't she use to play for UGA? or was it her sister or?

Yeah, Maho was an All-American. Miho was 14 in the ITF juniors and has built a pretty solid resume at OSU. She's also incredibly sweet and probably the heart of the team.
