Re: » Off Topic - Mona fans chat thread » Auf geht`s BVB ♥

From n-tv.de:

But i agree with you, Klopp shouldn't have let him play as he probably is the most important player for Dortmund. Maybe he wanted his players to keep their rhythm until the final.

At least there is some hope now that Mats will be fit in time.
Hummels is more important to BVB than Badstuber for Bayern. But to be honest Badstuber's replacement Van Buyten had only routine tackles to make. He really hadn't that much to do. At Bayern Müller/Mandzukic/Ribery/Robben can win defensive tackles.

Sad to hear Anna's story.

I hope the renewed rupture of his cruciate ligament won't put Badstuber's career at risk. He is a talented centre-back, but you are right, he is to some degree replaceable in Bayern's defensive system.

In my opinion Dante and Martinez are Bayern's most important defensive players. They are making the difference between this season and last season.

Do you guys do yoga at all? I do it every day. I started with Diane Bruni's Breathing space yoga, which is basically a relaxed Ashtanga class.

I also do the 15, 30 and 45 min David Swenson classes which I found online (he has an 1 and a half hour full primary sequence one too, but I rarely have time for it).

I like the yogatoday classes, especially the ones with Adi Amar, who is a very good teacher in my opinion, similar to Diane Bruni, she gives good gentle guidance and has a calm, spiritual nature. They have classes on youtube and also a free weekly class at yogatoday.com.

I do yoga but not everyday unfortunetly. It's really great and I prefer doing yoga than training in the gym. I fully understand now how yoga is helping Djokovic. I bought a yoga CD for body burning/toning. The teacher in the CD is Denise Austin. I can't believe this women is 56 years old. Is doing yoga make you look that healthy at such old age?

Wow!

Re: » Off Topic - Mona fans chat thread » Auf geht`s BVB ♥

I think Mats' passing is really good for a defender, especially compared to Subotic's or Santana's passing. I think you could see the difference in the german cup tie against Bayern when Mats was missing.
Imo it`s pretty obvious that the defensive line is the weak point in this for Borussia. They are all pretty young players and esspecially Schmelzer but also Subotic tend to lose track of their game under pressure.

Mats is the central player and pretty much their leader in the defensive line. He initiates Borussia`s game from the back and therefore he of course is a very crucial player.
As said he`s in for a black-out at times. After the first match against Real he was the only player who was not happy about his performance because one of those lead to the gol against them. But it speaks for him that he did extremely well one week later.

I still think that a healthy Goetze will be/would have been very important for Dortmund. He`s the congenial partner of Reus, is always in for something special and makes their offensive play much more impredictable.

I think yoga definitely helps people to look and feel much healthier and when you are healthy, flexible and in great shape you will look and feel young. Many yoga teachers I've seen look 10 years or more younger than their real age. By comparison I've seen people in their twenties who you would swear were already in their fifties because they got so out of shape. Of course the stretching helps a lot but I think it's really the whole healthy lifestyle in general that does it, and I think that people who are into yoga generally clean up their entire diet and lifestyle because it's a very holistic kind of practice, you can't do yoga seriously and have a very unhealthy lifestyle because it's against the philosophy.

Howard was asking for it a little earlier in this thread.
I know it has got pretty much completely "out of fashion" to read books in our days but I still have to read something every day.
I can`t tell what I like most because there are so many worthy books available of the modern and the ancient times.
Of course we German have a big number of great guys and genius in this art.

Does anybody of you know "On the Aesthetic Education of Man" by Schiller ?
Schiller might sound antiquate but I can tell you that that`s not the case.
It`s very hard to get something out of it when you just read it. I recently joined a group of about 10-15 people who are working on it since longer.
However I think it`s a pity that people tend to have not the time for/ are not interested in philosophical questions anymore nowadays.

Will try to have a look. I see that it's related to Kant's ideas.

By the way, maybe use the phrase "asking about it" in a normal situation. "Asking for it" is usually reserved for situations when someone provokes someone into doing something to them. But you can ask for something, it's just when those three exact words are placed like that you think of the slang usage.

I don't do yoga but i read some books about spiritual development (Ken Wilber, Deepak Chopra). So i think i would be open for a try.

I can imagine that some spiritual exercising would be very helpful for a lot of WTA-players.

Schiller is closely related to Goethe but not to Kant. Of course he knew Kant who is actually the most wellknown and famous of the German philosophs at that time. In his "Kritik der reinen Vernunft" he initiated and formulated the fundamental ideas of the modern and common point of view in philosophics.
When you take a closer look you could even say that they were some kind opponents in philosophical questions.

Would have been a little strange anyway if he had played. I still don`t get why he signed at Bayern, esspecially at that time.
But now it`s official. Götze won`t play on Saturday because his injury has broken up again.

I don't get that either. In sporting terms it would have been better for Götze to stay at Dortmund for another three years. But i think he is too much influenced by his agent who earns the most of his money by getting his players transferred.

Anyway, i am happy that he won't play in the final.

Every German boy's dream is to one day play for Bayern, just like every English boy grows up hoping to play for Manchester City

It seems that there is already a lot of response to the rise of German football

Cascada Tanks—And Germany Searches for Answers

Like the other 25 non-first place finishers of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, Germany is struggling to come to terms with not winning. Natalie Horler—the front woman of the dance act Cascada—brought the house down with a glittery, skin-tone dress and a clubby dance extravaganza that was more than a little reminiscent of last year’s thumping winner “Euphoria”. Pundits thought that “Glorious” would live up to its name. Instead, Germany received votes from only 5 countries—Austria, Israel, Spain, Albania and Switzerland—and finished in 21st place.

Now Germans want an explanation, and public figures are diving into economics, politics and even sport in their search for answers.

Peter Urban, Germany’s commentator at Eurovision, struggled to explain the poor results to the German audience: “It was a great performance and a good dance song … Maybe it’s decided based on different criteria than we think.”

Could it be politically motivated anti-German backlash for the harsh fiscal austerity measures imposed in the euro zone? Thomas Schreiber, the TV coordinator of the main German broadcaster ARD, seemed to think so: “There’s obviously a political situation to keep in mind – I don’t want to say ‘this was 18 points for Angela Merkel’, but we all have to be aware that it wasn’t just Cascada up there on stage (being judged) but all of Germany.”

He failed to mention that Spain and Austria, both euro zone members, gave points to Germany.

In an interview on ZDF, Urban suggested that Cascada’s fumble may come down to jealousy related to Germany’s success on the football pitch. “There will be two German soccer teams in the Champions League final next week ,” he said, “and maybe people didn’t want Germany to win Eurovision too.” He may have been joking, but with humour there’s always a little bit of truth.

Hmm. It’s doubtful that there’s a great deal of overlap between Eurovision voters and Champions League viewers. (We can’t imagine someone downloading the karaoke version of “Satellite” and then guzzling beer with Bayern Munich fans in a parking lot.)

Natalie Horler tried to remain positive in a post-show interview: “The arena had fun, we had fun – you can’t explain it.”

Maybe Eurovision voters just thought one “Euphoria” was enough.

Re: » Off Topic - Mona fans chat thread » Auf geht`s BVB ♥

Who will replace Götze tomorrow?

This is my favorite line-up:

-----------------Weidenfeller----------------

Piszczek-----Hummels-----Subotic-----Schmelzer

-------------Sahin-------Bender--------------

Blaszczykowski-----Gündogan----------Reus

-----------------Lewandowski-----------------

I know this line-up is a bit risky and i think it's likely that BVB will start with Großkreutz in the left attacking midfield while Reus takes over Götze's role as CAM. Gündogan would then be nominated as CDM of course.

Auf geht's, BVB! :armed:

I also think that the 2nd option is the more probable one. I'd favour the more risky (attacking-oriented) one though.
