Actually, she's hanging on to every word that Vera is saying. During the match, Masha was asking Vera to translate to Russian the sentence "there's no crying in tennis!" (taken from the baseball movie "A League of Their Own", btw) and Vera was giving the translation when this shot was taken.
Masha's been brushing up on her Russian, you know, lest Myskina and EDem take a swipe again at her lack of Russian-ness.

Maria is just listening to what Vera's saying...
I saw the whole match and they appeared to get on really well

actually by the look of it....and everyone look closely and see if u can agree with me......but shes not loking at vera...she slightly looking behind vera...and i think (jsut because she does it sooo much) that maybe maris just looking at her dad....and teh "evil" look is probably just her squinting because its a bright day..

Maria looks like she is looking behind vera and not at her.
Maria was probably looking at the scoreboard or her dad,Maria usually looks at her dad in a match.
Maria does not seem like the type of woman to give other players evils.Maria is too nice to do things like that
