Rita recovered nicely after blowing a 5-2 first set lead to save at least one set point (that I know of) to win in straights, 7-6(7), 6-1 at RG. That first set tiebreaker proved crucial. Sharapova's next.
Hoi everybody sorry i cannot post much recently...work is killing me...but I always support (and suffer ) for the italians, including Rita, that is giving me the biggest headaches this year...
Hope she can pick up her game a little and go up in the rankings, if she falls out of the top 100 I have a feeling she will retire...she has been on the tour for over a decade, though she is still quite young. It kills me to see her losing so easily to players she should beat with her eyes closed
Mexico is my house, Italy is my heart....
I was at 11 of Rita's 12 matches over the past 2 1/2 weeks, unfortunately I couldn't go to her 4th rd match today against Suarez, but I am so proud of her. Wimbledon should have boosted her confidence no end and hopefully she'll return to the ranking she deserves, as if she doesn't then sadly she is likely to retire at the end of the year, and the tennis world will miss her
