Yeah that's nice FedCup success for us.
Given the fact that we have only just 3 (ouch) professional players...

Why is there no interest in Baltic tennis! I think it sad for only obatafan and vutt post in here.
Poor Maret Ani and Kaia Kanepi lost in the second round of Qs in Roland Garros. Maret lost to Fernandez 16 26 and Kaia lost to Rittner 57 62 26
Is Maret playing doubles with Libuse?

Hi Annika!
Maret is playing doubles with Manu! They did quite well 2 weeks ago in Rome by reaching QF.
They should play in doubles RG main draw to.
If we speaking about lack of interest then I'm sorry to say that even in my country lot of people feel that ranking below 100 does not mean a lot despite the fact that Kaia was junior RG champion. So yeah it's kind of sad...

That is nice to see Maret in RG doubles main draw
I understand that people can be quite not caring. I am surprised that the many people from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia from the board are not writing though. There are many of them, and yet you and obatafan are the ones that maintain it all by yourselves! Hopefully I can write often too

Yeah, it's really sad that Maret didn't qualify for the main draw in Wimbledon, and in addition it's also bad that she doesn't get much attention, not even from "real" tennis-fans. But the most beautiful girls are outside 100 or just in Top100 like perebiynis for example... I would like to see playing some other girls than just always the same Hantuchova, Henin, Mauresmo and them who we already know... Go Maret, you will make it again to a main draw soon. I believe in you...
...so when I can finally see her playing in a match? She is soooooo cute!!!

Maret
I thought Maret would beat Virginie, who played awful in previous Wimbledons. Oh well, go qualify for US Open. Where is Liachoviciute this year? Has she retired?
Liga Dekmeijere has qualified for a $10K event in (i think) Bastad.

Obatafan.
Thanks for making Baltic players cheering thread. Tennis isn't a popular kind of sport in Latvia therefore I'm very proud that someone else from another country cheers for our girls. Even if they not having so good results as we would want but still they are our girls.
Thanks again!

Besides congratulations to Liga!! She along with Matic (GER) def. Strycova/Voskobojeva 2:6; 6:2; 6:4 at the Rogers cup in Montreal. That is a great result!
In the next round they will play with pair Tanasugarn/Huber. That will be very hard match but anyway good luck!!!

Well done to Liga
She has been having better results in singles recently, hopefully she can pull it together like she does in doubles! Anzela on the other hand is in a terrible slump. She will probably retire this year . There is also Kuzmina as a promising player!
I really wonder why there are no challenger events in the Baltic states? Is it a lack of facilities? That would help to increase the popularity of tennis there!
