Hey guys! I watched yesterday a clip loaded by Spencercarlos in GM, last games of Gabriela's win over Steffi at Amelia Island '92, and it was amazing! I watched it live, I remember and enjoyed, but I never watched it again. It was thrilling to see that great tennis from Gabriela, and I kept wondering: why does a hell she stopped being so aggressive and self-confident! I guess it all changed after Mary-Joes disaster

yeah, i may have just gotten that one too (a bunch of gaby matches) and i saw the wimbledon final....i was pleasantly surprised of how she handled the grass, but also that her game was far more interesting and exciting than graf. it was like 'there is dull german girl running around ineffective backhand' and 'there is flamboyant many faceted gabriela charging net, hitting incredible angles, and whipping the ball about the court' - but i didnt get to see the end yet.

I saw the Diego Show this weekend. I could only
take about 30 minutes of it. It does look like it
is being syndicated in the 'best of' type format.

They show the singers and big guest a lot. A lot of
parts of Diego talking about his favorite subject,
himself! Argentina seems to love everything he
does, no matter how weird it may be to me, way
over here. Diego interviewing Diego? Fidel Castro?
I guess that's popular in Argentina.

I did see small clip showing some of his guests
and it flashed by Gabby's appearance on the first
night. That's all from what I could tell. No words
from her. However, I did not watch all of it, which
was about 2 hours from the TV Guide.

I also did see some German languange magazines at
a nice bookstore last weekend. Two did have
something on the Steffi match. But, only pictures of
Steffi and the concert people, whoever they were.
Nothing on Gabby. Just the score.



It would be nice to see more of Mariano, and her
brother, and family in the Argentine magazines.
Maybe for the holidays we may get a bone or two.


Or maybe she may show up in San Antonio to see the
two Argentine stars. Ginobli has a fellow Argentine
on the team now, not sure of his name.

I've been spending a lot of time in the Reno-Tahoe
area the past few months for work. Hopefully, it's
over now, it's getting cold over there. I'm not a snow
person.

It has given me a chance to see and read some other
newspapers and online sources.

Reno Gazette Jouranal October 30th opinion piece
on Sheryl Swoopes, included a line about Gabby,
by writer Chuck Carlson.

It's funny when you read it. She never made any anouncment whatsoever regarding her personal life, except admitting to dating a few guys, like Ricky martin, micky rourke and others. Btut thats as far as she ever went in telling anyone about her personal life, so no you didn't miss anything. that line is a clear lie. typical bad journalism.

Hey, man? That's completely untrue. I mean, Gabriela could be gay or straight, I don't mind, she's as free as everybody else to love who she pleases, but she never admitted anything like that! There is a rumour, I know, here at home and in many places, but I bet if she had said anything like that, there would've been a storm in the media, especially here. I, and every Argentine, would have heard about it

The opinion piece is about Swoopes (Swoops?) coming
out a few weeks ago. She's a WNBA player, and it
really wasn't a big secret at all. Why he threw in Gabby's
name at all is a wonder to me. I have never read or
heard anything like that before.

It's only one sentence, but it is just as I wrote it there.

Factual if you buy his writing.


I have no idea who the guy is, but the Reno publication
is legitimate and just a regular paper, and online too.

I agree with you though, if this had been 'admitted', it
would be a huge, huge international story. No way she
would be allowed to be 'private'. The paparazzi would
be after her even more.

Maybe someone should contact the writer, and ask why
he wrote that. You would think her agent would do something like that. Or Mariano or whoever it is she
is supposedly with.

However,maybe they just find it better to ignore things
like this. Why go the Tom Cruise route, and go after anyone
who says anything, or pokes fun at anything referring to
being gay. He goes nuts about that. That only seems to
make the rumors grow, not go away - in his case anyway.

South Park did a funny show about him. He's on the show,
gets mad about something, prescription drugs I think, and
goes into the closet because he's mad at the other characters. The show is then, trying to get Tom Cruise to
please come out of the closet. Very funny.

Sue? Yes, she could probably do that. But, what's
the point? It's a small paper, but a legitimate one
from what I have read over the past two months
being up and down from there. I did not get the
impression it is a rag, or the writer is a nut. It
brings more attention to the story - which we
believe to be wrong. Do you think anyone in her
circle even knows, or cares, about this type of stuff?

He could just be wrong. Maybe if you want,
someone can e-mail him. The Reno Gazette Journal
is online, and Chuck Carlson has an e-mail address.

All I can figure out is he either (1) confused her with
another latin player, or (2) he just presumes she is
from his perspective, and being up in Northern
California,doesn't see much of her at all, and
thinks she's incognito.

We're all fans of Gabby, and of tennis, and I would ask
anyone here to let me know where this 'admission'
is at, or where she did in fact make a public 'outing'
of herself.

Maybe we missed it.

I don't think she did it, and that could be why.

Going back years from Rula Azar's site, to the others
I've seen online, there is a lot of Gabby Sabatini news
regularly. Some periods are full of it, and some time
it is hard to find. But, it's consistent at least.
I've neveseen or read anything from her, or her
agent, or her close friends, even come close to
this type of 'admission'.



There is plenty of information to back up rumors or
inuendo that she may be gay over the years. But, she
also has plenty to back up being a private personal
woman who has had a private personal guy in her life
for a few years, and they prefer it that way. As well as
she has said many times she is indeed straight, and
knowsa lot of people think she's not, and there isn't
much she can do about that.

Hey guys, been a while.
Just read on Rula Azar's site, that Gaby will be honored in some sort
of Italian Argentinean show night or something. It seems she along others will be honored if I understood what they wrote right. It's next weekend, next Saturday night.
