POLÉMICO PREMIO

CONTROVERSIAL PRIZE
J.K. Rowling obtains to the Prize Prince of Asturias of the Concord

J.K. Rowling, the author of the successful saga of Harry Potter, has been awarded with the Prize Prince of Asturias of the Concord since its work, in opinion of the jury, "extends the literary scope to become a bond of union between continents and generations".

Nevertheless, the reactions to this award have not been made hope. Several writers already have positioned so much to favor as against this prize, by which Rowling will receive 50,000 euros and the reproduction of a sculpture created specifically by Joan Mirò for the prizes Prince of Asturias, in addition to a acreditativos diploma and a standard.

Honor or insult?

Sharply against the concession of the prize to Rowling has been Alexander Gándara, author of several infantile novels as ' I am Never like you quieró. supposes that the Prize of the Concord must award the solidarity and the sacrifice of some little common beings of the human sort towards others so common in its misfortune. Although lady J.K. Rowling has these qualities personally, of course does not have in as much author of the saga Harry Potter. So this prize seems to me, simply, an insult to all those people who every day gamble the type in Africa, Oriente.medio and so many other places needed solidarity and sacrifice?

Lorenzo Silva, author of several books for young people like La lluvia de Paris or Laura y el corazón de las cosas, has shown the same opinion and has doubted the literary quality of the work of Rowling. me these prizes seem to me a cheap imitation of the Nobels so that a series of importance people. It seems to me that in Prince de Asturias the important thing is that the ceremony is showy and nothing else. He would be very hard to give to J.K. Rowling a prize him by his literary value, that is reason why it had to compete, so they occur by this the concord

The same doubts have showed Jesus Ferrero who has described the concession as "lunatic". a writer whom more propaganda does not need and the one of the concord me I do not create it. There is people who deserves it much more, it concluded the author.

Nevertheless, everything is not stones against the roof of Rowling. Andreu Martín, one of the creators of the famous saga of the Flanagan detective, considers that this prize responds "to the stimulus to the reading who have supposed the adventures of Harry Potter", which they have contributed doubtlessly "to that many young people discover that to read can be amused".

On the other hand, Jordi Serra i Fabra, has been very skeptical with respect to the reasons argued by the jury: prize has taken to me of unexpected, the truth, and I do not imagine the reasons for which the jury has been able to give the Prize him of the Concord to J.K. Rowling, I imagine that because their books break borders but, I do not know. The truth is that it surprises. In any case, I celebrate any prize that grants to a good or bad?sea writer by its work because they recognize the writer office, but in this tactical mission it would leave to a very fat question on the prize and the awarded one by everything what it intuits that there is in the back room.
