I remember 2011 Rome very fondly; especially that she finally solved Wozniacki at SF, after she badly beat herself at SF of 2011 IW .

Don't realize it's been 3 years already, time flies when people have fun!

Nope, the 3 set loss to Henin at RG 2010 was the harbinger of the rise of claypova.

Either way, the signs were there!

Another important milestone about 2011 Rome; it's the first Tier 1 Clay Championship Maria won.

Very often, Serena withdrew before she's scheduled to face a red-hot Maria.

It would be the best for Maria if she can play Serena at Rome SF, before playing her again at 2014 RG.

Re: BNL d'Italia 2014 - we ROME the streets of Siberian Siren

Change the thread title please . Serena has no business having her name in a thread title about Maria in SS.

I have no idea in what form will Maria show up here, but I wish she could somehow at least reach the semifinal. She has a week off between Rome and Roland Garros, and I hope that does the trick for her to go all the way here.

The draw is tough, but Maria is showing time and time again that that doesn't matter this year.
