Re: WWW Madrid R3: [8] Sharapova vs Stosur

Hoping for Sharapova to get through, I need Li vs Pova .

Stosur isn't easy on clay though so I think Maria will win in 3 (assuming she carries over her recent form )

Re: WWW Madrid R3: [8] Sharapova vs Stosur

sharapova was all over the place today and even in the zakopalova match despite the misleading scoreline, and i suspect her shoulder injury is back from some of the facial expressions mid-second set today and the terrible serving.

fast clay is probably the best possible conditions for samantha. especially if it's a hot day. not even someone as tall as sharapova will be able to smack those heavily spun shots back. this will obviously be on manolo santana, which does heat quite a lot.

hoping for a good match like the epic they played in the 2012 edition of stuttgart but won't be holding my breath.

stosur will win in 2. great chance for a semi after that since li quite simply doesn't know how to play stosur, regardless of their respective form and ranking.

Re: WWW Madrid R3: [8] Sharapova vs Stosur

Hopefully Sam, if she wins this she'd most likely face Li, which means she'd get a BYE for a Premier Mandatory SF.

Re: WWW Madrid R3: [8] Sharapova vs Stosur

The same Stosur that was routined 6-4, 6-0 by some nobody last week and has been horrible all year. Maria should win this easily if she can keep her mind from wandering like it did today and in too many matches this year.

Shanks plenty (Stosur). Hoping Sam can pull something off.. but I expect Maria will struggle through like always. (Also, I have Maria winning per Draw Challenge )

Maria in 2. Not a good match-up for Sam. Hope she proves me wrong..

Sam should breeze through this if she is up to her level.

Re: WWW Madrid R3: [8] Sharapova vs Stosur

After last week's fiasco I'm amazed that I'm seriously thinking that Sam has a chance here, but actually she's probably played a tad better than Maria so far this week, so who knows?

But I still doubt that Sam's head is quite where it needs to be to pull off a win against Masha. Voted for her though because ... well because she's Sam
