‘He’s Lucky To Get Out Of Here Alive’ judge didn't like tee shirt

Conservative Judge Holds Black Defendant’s Support Of Obama Against Him: ‘He’s Lucky To Get Out Of Here Alive’ (VIDEO)
Author: Stephen D Foster Jr August 1, 2014 4:23 pm

Republicans say that racism no longer exists in America. Perhaps they should send this conservative Kentucky judge the memo.

In July 2013, Darryl Broaddus was brought before Judge Sandra McLaughlin to be arraigned on drug charges. But Broaddus, who is an African-American, didn’t get a fair hearing. Why? Because McLaughlin didn’t like the t-shirt he was wearing and what it represented.

During his arraignment, Broaddus stepped in front of Judge McLaughlin wearing a shirt featuring President Barack Obama’s face. The shirt read ‘Let’s Do It Again,’ a reference to Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

This clearly didn’t sit well with McLaughlin, who clearly states on the video that the shirt isn’t helping Broaddus in her courtroom. Apparently, supporting President Obama and being black counts against defendants.

As Broaddus is leaving the courtroom, McLaughlin can be heard mocking him for all to hear.

“Did you see his t-shirt?” McLaughlin asked. “Barack Obama, ‘Let’s Do It Again.’ That was a double whammy. He’s lucky to get out of here alive.”

Here’s the video via Kentucky Center For Investigative Reporting.

What's even more amazing is that she felt comfortable saying this out loud in court for all to hear.
