Each International tournament has one Special Exempt spot in the Main Draw, reserved for a singles player who is unable to compete in the qualifying because she is still competing in previous week’s WTA or Grand Slam tournament (in singles only)
1st round match in an International Tournament may be postponed one day (until the second scheduled day of Qualifying) due to her singles or doubles participation in the previous week’s WTA Tournament or her singles only participation in a $100,000 through $75,000 ITF event.
1st round match in a Premier Tournament may be postponed one day (until the second scheduled day of Qualifying) due to her singles or doubles participation in the previous week’s WTA Tournament.
A player’s 1st round match in a Premier Tournament may be also postponed one day (until the
second scheduled day of Qualifying) due to her singles participation in the previous week’s ITF event provided that the event is a $75,000 or above and the following conditions apply:
i. A Premier Mandatory and Premier 5 tournament or 2 Premier 5 tournaments are played in back-to-back weeks;
ii. There is no International Tournament scheduled in the first of the two back-to-back weeks; and
iii. By virtue of a player’s ranking, she would not be a direct acceptance (original cut-off at the entry deadline), into the Main Draw or Qualifying of the 1st of the two back-to-back week Tournaments.
The player must have a reasonable chance to be able to play at noon on Day 2.
Qualifying matches will not be postponed for players who lose in the previous week’s Tournament on the Qualifying Sign-In day.
