Good luck to her! I somehow expect her to have a overall better season than 2014. But that's just a weird feeling I have..

^ thanks Devon. What is your opinion of their doubles partnership? Have they ever played together before? I am new to being an Angie fan, so not as aware of her doubles prowess. Much less with Ana.

^ I mistook the doubles partner reference in Angie's twitter feed, and didn't realize they were speaking of being an actual doubles team. thanks for the link Devon.

Angie never played that much doubles and I think she never played with Ana before. I remember her playing with Kvitova two years ago during the US Open Series and of course the funny doubles with Petko at special tournaments like Stuttgart. But honestly, Angie is no good doubles player for me because service and volleys are not her best shots.

Re: Angie's 2015 - January - Angie's Australian Adventures

I hope you're right But is it just my impression or did Angie fly pretty late to Australia this year? I remember her celebrating New Year's Eve in Brisbane last year and this year she still was on the flight.

interesting, so why do you think she would choose to play doubles again? to me the partnership with Ana is so random. I like it though, but still wondering why they are playing. Would love any explanations.

Re: 2015 Angie in Australia

My guess is that the two have a good relationship and just want to have some fun there and of course it's also some kind of match practice after the long off-season. But I doubt the two want to become doubles specialists. But I was never aware of the fact that Angie and Ana had such a good relationship

Re: Angie's 2015 - January - Angie's Australian Adventures

she didn't end the previous year positively. i wonder if she can improve on her prior play. she was on a downslide at the end of 2014, especially after US Open 2014. She didn't sound too positive either on Facebook, like she was disappointed with her results. I hope the break has helped her. Please.

But why??? This seems to be a major waste of time, at least for Angie. She needs to save her energy for singles, instead of wasting her time with doubles. I appreciate that they are friends, but c'mon! She's not getting any younger.

Re: Angie's 2015 - January - Angie's Australian Adventures

I think it helped her, she had enough time to reload her batteries and she spent some time with her family and the vacation should have helped her to be a bit more relaxed again. I just hope she is not unlucky with her draws (e.g. Azarenka in Melbourne R1 )

Re: 2015 Angie in Australia

I know what you mean, I also don't like to see her play doubles because she has a very physical game and need her energy. But I don't think it's that exhausting, I think it's like free time for her and just for fun.

Btw: what about putting the two Australian Swing topics together? I think this would make sense and we don't need to jump between the two threads

I've re-watched some older matches of Angie, and Angie just does not look like the same player. I am sad to say this, but is it me, or has her play slowed down? It seems like she was way more agressive in prior years, and towards the end of 2014, she seems to lost this confidence.
