Do you think Serena will defend her Scottsdale title?
I hope so, but the restrospect is sooo unlikely. The only title she was able to defend was Los Angeles 1999-2000, nothing else.
Even with her chances soooo down, you know, with Serena everything's possible and I'm crossing my fingers for the
22nd Title!

I don't think Serena will have a problem. The competition is not quite there.

Well Serena hadnt won a slam in three years before 2002 and hadnt gotten past a clay court quarterfinal before last year either. I think that she will. Never doubt her.

Don't go by the Past, go by what Serena has done this year.

I agree with VF. Sh eshould defend. Clijsters is the only person who could really beat her, but Rena will have to be off and Kim on, bu that is unlikely!

I don't think that Serena will have much of a problem defending. It will be her tournament to lose. I also agree that you can't go by past records. Sure, Serena hasn't done too much to defend but most of those titles she had to defend, she didn't even play! She won IW, but didn't go back to defend. She won the Canadian Open, but was injured and couldn't defend. She won the Tokyo Princess Cup, but that tourney no longer exist, so she won't be able to defend. So I don't think it's entirely fair to say that she is bad at defending. There are only a handful of tourneys where she played as the defending champ. And remember, the Rena of today, is not the Rena of the past. This girl is determined to go down in the history books as one of the greats. Which is entirely appropriate because she certainly is in that category!!!
GO RENA!!! Pick up title #22!!!

I do think she will defend her title. She´s more focused now than in the past. In the past she was playing around, but now she is death serious about her business.
