I still have hopes for Kvitova. I expect her to win a slam next year.

I'm okay with either winning.
They're obviously both good grass players, so it's not gonna be a complete random winner at least.

Yeah. I'll still pull for Marion but I will be happy either way. This is going to be the first time since RG last year that I can at least stand the winner. The past 4 slams were just .

Re: Wimbledon Chat Thread: The Lawn of Dreams

This is the first slam final in ages where I'd be happy with either of them winning

Think I have a slight preference for Bartoli though, since she almost certainly won't get another opportunity.

Re: Wimbledon Chat Thread: The Lawn of Dreams

I'm not even sure I'll bother watching this final Lisicki will obviously overpower and outserve Bartoli, just like their H2H suggests. Marion is useless whenever she meets superior power.

It's a beautiful feeling. As I posted before, the past four were awful.

I can figure out very easily what I don't like about her. She has just beaten Aga Radwanska. As usual Popeye tennis wins again. Still, the two finalists are likable as people, so from that perspective I'm ok with them. Doesn't matter to me who of them wins it. Whoever I want to win always loses anyway.

Aga, don't worry girl. You did those who rooted for you proud and you gave it a 100%. We can't ask for anything more than that.

I was warming a bit to the idea of Aga winning, but after that handshake and post-match comments? Goodbye and good riddance.

I did feel quite sorry for Aga though. When is she ever going to get a chance this good again? '100 years'?

But on grass a player like Bine when on is just going to come out on top. I also loved how Bine didn't just bbb the whole time. Some lovely long rallies with angles and net play from both.

I think for it to really happen for Aga it would have needed to be AO or USO.

Re: Wimbledon Chat Thread: The Lawn of Dreams

One area where the men's game obliterates the women's in general is the handshake. The amount of handshakes from the women where there's no eye contact exchanged and the hand shake is more a hand slap is unsettling. You don't see that shit on the men's side, generally. There's always some respect at least.

Re: Wimbledon Chat Thread: The Lawn of Dreams

I would be happy with either winning, but may pull for Marion just because I think she deserves one after all her years on the tour and her mentality/big game. Sabine, though. Wow, what a story it's been for her, not just this year but for the past 3 years at Wimbledon. Would be an equally worthy champion here just because of her wins and Wimbledon success. Also, preventing Aga from winning a Slam? PRAISE.
Good luck to both!

Re: Wimbledon Chat Thread: The Lawn of Dreams

I hope Sabine wins, just because it feels like she deserves this more. She took out Serena this year and every year she pulls an upset. Plus it's the only tournament she does so well every year, so I'd be happier if she won. And I don't know cake annoys me for some reason so there's that.
