It begins the week commencing 21st April.
It takes place in Ankara, Turkey on hardcourts.
If war is still going the venue may be changed.

If its moved it will probably be to La Manga yes?
On hardcourts GBR would have a great chance on clay NO WAY!

I'm 99% sure it'll be played on clay. Don't think it will be moved because of war.

it was clay last few years in La Manga.
Originally it's on hardcourts, coz that's what it said on official fed cup site, but if venue is changed then the surface may be too.

Who is going to be in the British team;
I expect it would be any of the top 5, if not all of them.
That's: Elena, Anne, Julie, Lucie & Jane.

Apparently, ITF delegates are on their way to Turkey to assess the situation. An announcement will be made on Monday (I think) whether the fed cup qualifiers will be cancelled or moved!
From ITV Teletext. Pg 488 or 489

I think the war makes it much too dangerous in Turkey, let's move to somewhere safer...... like Bournemouth! We want Fed cup in Britain.

It is definitely clay. Amanda Coetzer said in an interview, after it was announced that she will play for SA, that, as it is on clay, it will be part of her preparation for Roland Garros. I looked in the atlas to see where Antalya is - and I also thought it was (luckily) a bit far from the war zone.
