If I was single, I would have an account and bet on all kinds of shit. But wives aren't in love with gambling losses and I don't need any more grief.

Re: How many of you bet on women's tennis?

I bet on Bwin for exactly a year (March 2011 - March 2012). Always peanuts (largest bet can't have been more than 100-120 €, and those were all-or-nothing), with a measure of success (doubled my initial deposit). Had my original deposit + some peanuts refunded to be able to claim I had made, not lost, money, and then gambled away what was left in a week.

Can't use a betting website due to my bizarre superstition - Once I win money I have to reuse that "lucky" money for my next bet regardless of when that'll be so I have my "lucky money" money box as such that I dig into for all my bets and go into the bookies and place it down - at some point I'll spend it (if I have any left) on something big like a car or computer but not on anything less temporary like rent or food or clothes. God I sound crazy and it's weird cause I'm so logical about everything else and have no other superstitions - anyone else heard of the "lucky money" theory or is it just me?

I've never bet on tennis. Over the years I've read of people betting, mostly European people betting on tennis. I don't think many people do here in the US

I have tried to register on I think it was BET360 a few years ago because I was just curious but they wouldn't let me register.

If you ever do take up the habit just make sure you never bet any more than you're willing to lose - that's held me in fairly good stead over the years - been betting on tennis since 1998 put £5 on J. Novotna to win at 10/1 Wimbledon 98 and been in the black ever since. Used to only bet on Wimbledon until maybe 4 or 5 years ago and then took a few punts like Clijsters comeback at the US Open got her at 14/1 but also lost quite a few over the last few years but hey it comes with the territory!

Re: How many of you bet on women's tennis?

I do. The 4 things I learned from betting on women's tennis:

-Don't bet on Ana Ivanovic
-Don't bet on Caroline Wozniacki
-Don't bet more than 5€
-Bet on women's doubles

I have an ongoing bet actually. Sharapova, Williams and Azarenka, plus a risky one: Vinci. Also Petrova/Srebotnik, Peschke/Groenefeld, Raymond/Robson and tons of men's matches, including Janowicz to win against Gasquet

I think betting on Janowicz is a good bet against Gasquet, unfortunately.

I voted for this option, (I have no idea why I chose this at the time as I was already in the midst of losing) and ever since, I've lost more money. I jinxed myself.

In all seriousness, anyone who likes to punt but doesn't want to risk losing money, as long as you have a bet365 account and have made at least one deposit in a given year, you can play this competition game on TennisExplorer. Every month the winner, gets 150 euros given to their account to bet with and even if you come in 10th place, you get 20 Euros. I sound like an affiliate but I'm not. Just thought I'd put in an alternative for those who like to punt but not with real money as evidenced by how popular the games are on here.

I know, if this was the only "risky" bet, it would be all right. But then I have Vinci, and Chardy vs. Granollers. And you never know with Petrova/Srebotnik.

Since most bookies don't want US customers and US credit companies and banks are not allowed to facilitate deposits and withdrawals with bookmakers, it takes some planning if you live in the US, at least if your bank account and credit cards are American.
