It's 9 mph gusting to 14 mph, 2 mph more windier than SF against Jankovic.

The good thing is that it will be warmer, 77 F (25 C), which will be helpful for Maria's shoulder.

Actually I would love to see how Serena's serve might fair in the wind .

Serena will lead Maria by 1,100 points if she beats Maria tomorrow (11,115 to 10,015).
Maria will gain 225 points after Charleston when her Zero pointer from last year drops off. She doesnt even have to play.
Currently that 225pts (Tokyo QF) is only her 17th best result because of 3 Zero pointers she has.
So she'll have 10240pts after Charleston with Miami final, +300pts with title. 900pts lead over Azarenka.

It was but courts are a lot slower here so maybe that'll make a difference...or maybe I'm just grasping at straws

Re: Miami 2013: Hometown Glory?

The one good thing for me about Maria playing Serena is how calm I feel. No nerves whatsoever because I already know what the outcome will be. It's actually refreshing to not have any butterflies before a Maria match. All I feel is resignation.

By contrast, I was a wreck before the Indian Wells final against Wozniacki. You had the long title drought in the balance and the consequences of losing that final to that opponent were dire. A lot of pressure there. It was tough waiting those two days for that match.

But yet another pounding at the hands of Serena is really nothing at this point. Just par for the course. I've been amused reading different online articles hyping this matchup yet again as a "Dream Final". I'll go with a score of 6-1, 6-2 for Serena. Maria has done really well in second sets of late, so I gave her the extra game to avoid the double breadstick, like in 2007. Go Maria.

Re: Miami 2013: Hometown Glory?

I'm really happy with the way the season has been going by the way. I really thought she had an awesome chance in Australia to win when Serena lost, but I underestimated Li Na so much

But anyway, 2 SF, a title in IW and a final in Miami is pretty amazing I'm really looking forward to the clay court season, especially Stuttgart, Rome and the French Open of course. The season has started not long ago and she already has a big title to her name and hopefully she can win at least 2 during the clay court season and maybe one after

Yeah, I was disappointed after AO and Doha, and there was no confidence she would defend her last year IW and Miami results, but she made it and what is more important she improved comparing to AO. So I am really happy about that I am excited for clay season.

As for today, my only wish, please don't be bagelled.
