Legend Hingis admits on twitter she thought on coming back when beat Serena in WTT
martina hingis said on twitter today she considered a come back, at least in doubles, after beating serena in WTT, but says "it probably wont happen" now
thats shocking news, i remember on the post-match interview she was asked about a comeback and she said no way :P
also, she said she would have liked to play more doubles with lindsay after last year winning doubles in legends ladies

Re: Legend Hingis admits on twitter she thought on coming back when beat Serena in WT
She could play double with anyone but she seems to only want to play with past legends which is stupid since most of the players who were playing at her time and have retired are just not interested in a comeback and even less in double. They are all older than her and busy with their life/family. If she really wanted to come back and play double she should take a younger promising player that has already have good double results on tour and that are committed to the double. Like Kirilenko or Mirza.

As if Serena in WTT is anything close to her levels at slams or even WTA tournaments now.

I wished she would come back and play doubles. It sure would spice things up. You either love Martina or hate her, there is no in between. LOL.

She should come back to play singles. If Errani can be top 10...

What's that have to do with anything? Oh well haven't met a Sarin fan who is not insecure about a loss yet...

This serves as proof that some take WTT seriously.
There has long been the belief by some on this board that professional players (or even past pros) don't.
Aside...
Serena really shouldn't tease Hingis like that.

Maybe she should finally decide if she wants come back or not?
It's quite boring to read every 6 months that she's going to decide if she wants to play WTA's events or not.

If 82 years old Hingis after 5 years of doing NOTHING suddenly comes back AND becomes legit, then all WTA tour should fold. Just fold bc of embarrasment...

32 isn't old for a doubles specialist, really.
She'd probably be relevant in doubles, but she doesn't seem to want to take on a semi-established partner. She wants to fool around in legends events (and beat up on big name grandmothers who are playing club-level tennis) while some players around her age are still contending for slams in singles. It's a shame really.

Not a shame. She's used to top 5 tennis. The tour is a very hard life. She's fine where she is.

We can agree to disagree. But in life when you've found what you're good at, you've nurtured your talent, you're healthy, and you still clearly love the game, it's a shame to be living life in the stands, as a part time commentator, WTT doubles specialist, twitter pundit.
She's 32, not 42.
It's not like she's Clijsters or Davenport who are really invested in their family, children, their new life.

I neither love nor hate her. She was an interesting player and person during her time on the tour. However, she is nuts if she thinks Serena played anywhere near seriously for WTT.
She problably misses the competition, but would anyone really miss the travel grind?
