I have to admit that because she beat Petra and Julia at Paris Indoors, I took great delight in this beatdown. In all honesty, though, Monica played really well.

Crazy considering she got 60% 1st serves in and only had 2 DFs. This girl is supposed to have a good serve

Exactly the kind of match-up Monica and her fans are waiting for.
Some nice defensive work from Monica, letting her her opponent move, throwing in some great variety and let the inexperienced young girl implode.
Good luck in the final!
On the other hand piss poor attitude from Kristina. That laughing at the end sums it up nicely. If she really wants to make it big on the tour she should try to hang in and not let herself go like that. That was unworthy of any professional tennis player regardless the age.
Brazilian crowd summing up what is wrong with the tennis world. Completely biased cheering for the better looking girl even if every second shot goes into the tram-lines. And people are surprised Robson is signing endorsement contracts for millions.

The crowd was just cheering for the crying teenage girl getting a mauling, hardly a scandal... Niculescu wasn't exactly wowing the audience with her flashy winners either, though she does get the work done.

the way babos and now mladenovic were totally messed up by Monica makes me despair for the future of tennis. imagine if Patty Schnyder played these youngsters?

Is Mladenovic really better looking?  The Brazilian crowd is hard to get excited, so I suppose, whatever it takes.
Maybe they just wanted an actual match.
Still it is enjoyable to see Monica confuse her opponents. Some are really clueless.

Poor Kristina, she like all the other inexperienced young girls can't handle Monica's "junk" but well done Monica on making the final. I do think you should be ranked WAY higher than you are now. As you can beat quite a few girls in the Top 50.

Kristina actually won the WWW poll on this match 
I suppose the average tennis forum poster just thought "hmmm pretty long legged blonde who hits hard vs girl who hits lots of forehand slices, I will go with the blonde." TennisForum in a nutshell.
Anyway, as for the match, it was pretty predictable, maybe even a little bit easier than expected because basically after 3 or 4 games Kristina was so discombobulated that she didn't even fight. But Monica was on top of her game and put in a lot of cunning shot combinations that just left Kristina looking fairly clueless.
Almost certainly Venus next and that will be a totally different ballgame. Venus showed in their last final she could handle Monica's slice pretty easily and compared to Kristina , Venus has roughly 100,000 times more experience along with a lot more skill and for that matter more power as well. Still it will be a nice test for Monica, and if she can make the match more competitive than their final in Luxembourg was I will be happy.
