Probably the Departed but this is tough. Slumdog, ROTK, and MDB were excellent. NCFOM and the Hurt Locker weren't my favorites but I recognize they're great movies

I voted for Slumdog Millionaire, which I loved at the time and saw twice at the movies. A small part of me wonders whether it would hold up after a third or fourth viewing, though ...

Stinkbombs galore. No Country for Old Men.

Re: What is your favourite Oscar's Best Picture winner of the last decade?

How to Feel Better About Your White Guilt--oop I mean Crash, Slumdog Millionaire and the King's Speech are all awful. I never got into the LOTR. The Departed was a sympathy win and not near Scorcese's best films. The Hurt Locker was painfully overrated. Million Dollar Baby, The Artist and Argo were all fine, but hardly spectacular. That leaves No Country for Old Men which was fantastic. Best Picture has been one of the worst categories for a long time now imo.

I'm OK with half of those movies (esp. NCFOM, LOTR, THL) but the list as a whole just puts me to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Re: What is your favourite Oscar's Best Picture winner of the last decade?

2003 The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King - Epic, deserved.
2004 Million Dollar Baby - Beautiful movie. The fact that Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was not nominated (I mean, Findind Neverland was is the snub of the century.
2005 Crash - Brokeback Mountain was robbed.
2006 The Departed - haven't seen it
2007 No Country For Old Men - Best pic of that year.
2008 Slumdog Millionaire - Cute movie. But Best Pic really ?
2009 The Hurt Locker - haven't seen it
2010 The King's Speech - Boring. I was not a fan of The Social Network either though.
2011 The Artist - Saw the movie after the win. Disappointing.
2012 Argo - haven't seen it.

Voted LOTR. ESOTSM is the best movie of the last decade though.

I can never support Bigelow and The Hurt Locker because it beat An Education that year

My personal favorite is The Hurt Locker although No Country for Old Men is good too.

I think Slumdog holds up well. I know its got its detractors but the filmmaking was just so alive. I still think it was the perfect marriage of director and material. I think there will be a backlash to the backlash sometime soon

It's a tight race for me between the Departed and No Country for Old Men, but the latter wins it. Breathtaking in every imaginable way.
