Listing your favs??

Chirico, Townsend, Duval, Vickery, Crawford for sure. (QWC or MDWC)
Bencic - good chance for a QWC
Konjuh/Siniakova - not sure why you put them on the list...Konjuh a possibe QWC
Black - maybe a QWC, not sure since she hasn't done much on pro tour or even junior tour

Re: Louisa Chirico

^ kinda lol But no I break it down for you on Y I said those
1.Townsend already Have a WC if I right I don't know if it MD or QWC but she has one.
2.Crawford & Vickery might not need a WC do too the fact they might already be able too get in Qualifiers do to there ranking but if that not the case they should get an QWC, Crawford for sure do to the fact she won Junior U.S. Open last.
3. Duval I would think they would give her another MDWC or a WC in due to how well she done at the U.S. Open last year.
4. Chirico she an Rising American Player on Junior & doing pretty well so I think she would at least get an WC
5. Bencic she the Number one Junior so she might get an QWC
6. Black I mean why not I think she can get an WC just like Duval did last year nobody didn't know much about Duval till the U.S. open. I think it be grat if they gave Gabrielle Faith Andrews one as well.
7. Konjuh/Siniakova Kinda wishful thinking but they result have been great on junior I think it more chance for Konjuh to get an WC or even to get in with her on ranking kinda like Donna Vekic did last year.

Re: Louisa Chirico

Spirited Chirico making her mark

Quote:
She may have only just turned 17, but Louisa Chirico is already showing battling qualities akin to established players on the professional women’s tour.
The Morristown-born American has already scored a win over a former Top 30 player in her fledgling career, overcoming former world No. 25 Jarmila Gajdosova in three sets en route to her first ITF $25,0000 final on the Pro Circuit in Arizona this February, and her determined displays at this summer’s Junior Grand Slams have further underlined her promise.
Chirico finished a semifinalist at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon, running into eventual champion Belinda Bencic on both occasions, but her performances at the All England Club – in which she came through three-set encounters in all four of her matches up until the semifinals - underlined the star quality of a youngster whose best junior results have come on clay in the past.
Chirico won her first Grade 1 title on the red dirt this March at the 43rd Banana Bowl in Brazil, scoring six wins on the bounce including an emphatic 61 61 victory over Italy’s Alice Matteucci in the final. Two months later she reached the final at the Astrid Bowl in Charleroi, Belgium, ultimately falling to Ukraine’s Anhelina Kalinna in the final before battling her way to her first Grade A semifinals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
All this after first making her mark by helping USA defeat Russia to win the Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas title in Barcelona last September, an experience she describes as invaluable.
“Junior Fed Cup was an amazing experience for me,” said Chirico. “I’ve just played tournaments and had never played anything to represent my country before that, so it was a new experience and really cool. It’s a different feeling when you’re playing for your country and not just yourself.”
ITF Juniors sat down for some quickfire questions with the talented right-hander:
Do you have any nicknames?
Some people call me Lou. There’s not much you can do with Louisa, I guess!
Which websites do you check the most?
Facebook, twitter, youtube, stuff like that!
If you weren’t a tennis player, what would you be?
A singer. I love to sing. Rihanna is my favourite singer.
Which karaoke song are you most likely to sing?
Something by Rihanna. I don’t know. There’s too many to choose from!
What’s your biggest achievement in tennis so far?
My biggest achievement is probably winning the Junior Fed Cup. I also made final at the $25k in Arizona and I had a win over a former Top 30 player there.
What do you do away from the court?
I listen to music, hang out with my friends, just normal stuff. I like playing other sports too. I used to play pretty much everything. Soccer and basketball are my two favourites outside of tennis.

Who’s the most famous person in your phone book?
Ooh, I don’t know. Patrick McEnroe?

Do you have any pre-match rituals?
I have a playlist on my Ipod that I always play. I usually just sit and relax by myself after warming up while listening to music, then I go on the court and I’m fresh and ready.
What is your coaching set-up?
I train with the USTA player development in New York but Jay Gooding is my main coach.

Re: Louisa Chirico

I watched replays of her Wimbledon QF and SF matches, and I have to say I'm impressed.

1. Forehand is her best shot. It's not just powerful, but she can open up both sides of the court with the angled forehand.
2. Return-of-serve is nicely aggressive, and she blasted several outright winners in just the two matches I saw.
3. Serve is decent and can get even better. It's not overwhelmingly powerful, but has good placement.
4. Backhand is her "weaker" side, but still very good. Her backhand down-the-line was working well against Bencic. Her cross-court backhand is more of a rally shot, so she should be looking to run around it and create more with her forehand. The defensive slice backhand needs some work (usually set up an opponent's winner).
5. She did some good defensive scrambling and can probably use her athleticism even more, like her coach said. If she is looking to be aggressive and move forward, she can really do some damage.

Overall, I like what I see and there's a lot to expect from her in the future!

And to think her best surface could be red clay - that's almost shocking for an American.

Pretty much correlates with my impressions of watching her in person. I love her forehand. It's a very confident looking shot, and she can go down the line or crosscourt from either side, including inside out, with easy power. She needs to get more consistent with her serve, but it's not what I would call a weakness at her age.

Re: Louisa Chirico

Where is Louisa playing next? I would think she would get a wild card to a U.S. Open Series tournament, or at least play qualies.
