In tennis draws J. Tripp was still listed as Miss in 1914, M. Tripp even longer, until 1926 !
I think that makes it unlikely in my view that Jessie Spencer Tripp and her sisters are the ladies in question.

I'm basing this on two things.

1. We know they were married. Jessie Spencer was wed by 1901. An 8 or 9 year alias seems very unlikely.
2. The middle name for Jessie doesn't match. Usually she is listed as merely Miss J Tripp, but in 1909 there is a listing of her as Miss JE Tripp. One would think Jessie Spencer would be a JS Tripp.

I have an alternative Jessie in mind.

Jessie Evelyn Tripp was born 25 September 1872 and died between April and June of 1958 in Hampshire. I found no record of a marriage for her.

LKK-what evidence do we have for Miss B Tripp? is it only from the 1909 Riviera?

Her sister Margaret F Tripp was born circa 1880.

Both were from the town of Blackheath, Lewisham, Kent.

Do B Tripp and M Tripp ever appear together in the same draw? if they don't perhaps they are the same, with B perhaps being for Bessie? That's a stretch perhaps. Census records list only those two sisters.

If we could get a middle initial for M Tripp my confidence in this would go up!

That player was Miss J.E. Tripp for sure. When Miss B Tripp played on the Rivera in 1909, Miss M. Tripp wasn't there (she appeared on the Rivera for the first time in 1911)... Unfortunately I don't have any sources to prove that either there were 3 Misses Tripp or Miss B Tripp = Miss M Tripp

Two notes: in "Biographies" Gertruda Volkmer have been written Gertyuda, and Virginia L. Hess have been written Virginia L. Gress. Is Gress a mistake for Hess or for Grelle, her husband?

Excuse me, I didn't yet understand how the updatings work on "Encyclopedia" and on "Biographies", because I don't see other my recent additions: Alva Samuelsson, Christina Sandberg, Joanna Sakowicz, Katarzyna Teodorowicz.

All added in. Joanna Sakowicz, Katarzyna Teodorowicz have new bios. I already had entries for Alva and Christina and edited in your info.
