Gold Coast - tier3 - cheering thread.
Evie won her first round qualification over Aranxta Parra in 3 sets when Aranxta retired at 4-4 in the third set, which was unfortunate as she must have been hurting badly to retire at such a stage. Well done to Evie on playing a tough match and getting through it.
In round 2 qualifying she will play Kurhajcova and will likely get through that match before a showdown with Lina Krasnoroutskaya which will be a very tough match. Lina destroyed Sophie Ferguson 6-1 6-0 in her first round, won junior US Open and is a player who definately wouldn't be in qualifying had she not had injury woes.
