Yeah, we know now these were fakes. What burns me up is Sloane. She could have won one of those singles matches, so the US would have advanced.

Well Jelena did seem to have back injuries in AO and probably didn't want to risk it in Fed Cup when she really needs to focus on the main draw... but then she goes and plays doubles and singles in Doha  |

Dunno about the others, but Marion did look poorly in the photos. You can easily go from feeling absolutely terrible to almost ok in a couple of days with a bad cold.
Not so much if it's really flu.

I believe Marion. She only had the flu. You don't break up with your dad and decide to play Fed Cup just for hell of it... you could tell she was gutted... and she went out to support the team anyway.

Confirmed by witnesses. On tuesday afternoon, she started to hit balls with Jerôme Haehnel. And every 5 minutes, she stopped hitting and went to seat. No strength at all. No fake.
