Mariah isn't even that well known outside of the US anyway.  Maybe back in the mid-nineties or like 2005.

Why? I'm serious. In the United States I wouldn't be surprised if more people had heard of Serena than Roger. To people who don't follow tennis at all/know nothing about it, more people know Serena is a tennis player than Roger. That's been my experience at least.

Ummmm Mariah Carey has sold 200 million albums sells out stadiums and is know everywhere music is a platform that is as big if not bigger than sports itself and Mariah is the biggest at that. Serena is a b lister celebrity Mariah is a list superstar.

Serena is indeed more popular than Roger in the States, due to her appearances on People,tabloids, tv shows, reality shows, commercials, clothing selling tv channels, even news about her scandals, activities..... She is not as valued as Roger when it came to endorsements though, same when comparing to Phil Mickelson.

Really? As an American it's not even a contest, Serena is clearly more well-known outside of the tennis community. Same with Venus(by association), Satan, Anna K and more. That's not to say she makes more endorsements or is more loved within the tennis community, but in the US it's not even close. Almost everyone knows Serena (barring those who live in some backwater village in the middle of nowhere), and mainly people who follow tennis know Roger
