Country's Best Player Vote Game 2012: Welcome to Madrid! Ivanović & Dementedrena Win!
Country's Best Player Vote Game 2012:
Welcome to Madrid, Spain for the fifth annual staging of this prestigious event!
The color scheme this year will be red and yellow with white compliments to honor our host nation of Spain.
RULES:
1. The entry list of the Country's Best Player Vote Game is compiled of 28 direct entries and 4 wild cards. Since each country may enter its highest ranked player, the top 28 countries represented in the WTA rankings received entries, therefore allowing a competition between the best players from the best countries. There are 4 wildcards allocated, which are meant to be given to distinguished players who may be an exception to the rankings in that they have shown their skill through other criteria, which the wildcard system takes into account. This year's wildcards are as follows:
•Andrea Petkovic GER as the defending singles champion of the Country's Best Player Vote Game
•Elena Dementieva RUS as the defending doubles champion of the Country's Best Player Vote Game
•Jelena Janković SRB as the defending doubles runner-up of the Country's Best Player Vote Game
•Nadia Petrova RUS as the champion of the 2012 WTA Tournament of Champions
2. To be fair, pairs the first entry in singles with the last entry and so on. Seedings are determined by combined ranking total of the team.
3. The doubles round will begin when the singles second round begins. Each new round will not start until all matches from the previous round are complete. There are six rounds total in singles and five in doubles, including third-place playoffs in each.
4. All rankings used are from the 2012 off season.
5. No one may vote more than one time per match, so please don't attempt. You must also vote for all matches in progress or your vote will not be counted.
