Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2
Got Wozniacki round 1 of Dubai obviously, we know Lucie can beat Woz...but she has to play very well to do so, no stupid errors and the right tactic...she was playing great in Doha last year and only JUST won...
Maybe she'll surprise and play well

That kinda sucks knowing that there are wc v wc and q v q matches but actually draws have been pretty kind to her this year and she never took advantage of it. Maybe she will play better if they set her bigger challenge.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2
Here's her section:
Caroline Wozniacki [8] - Lucie Safarova
Qualifier - Qualifier
Marion Bartoli [WC] - Klara Zakopalova
Serena Williams [2] - Bye
Too bad about the draw. She needs to make up the points lost in Doha, here! Plus, she has 2nd round points to defend.
1-2 against Woz, but beat her at Doha last year. However, we know Lucie's been in poor form.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2
No she's 2-1 against Woz...won in Stuttgart 2010, lost Copenhagen 2011, won Doha 2012.
In the doubles, she and Pavs hit the jackpot and got Rosolska/Al Nabhani should win that

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2
Lousy draw. It's a shame too because there's no big opportunity to pick up points till Miami if I remember correctly.

then she'll have 320 pts to defend in Charleston
the prospect is quite bleak at the moment to be honest, really have no idea which Lucie will show up in these tournaments

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2
Lucie's had her chances with generous draws but she seems to play worse the easier they are. She's more than capable of taking out Wozniacki but her form suggests otherwise.
The doubles GOATness is unquestionable. It looks set to continue, winnable match/es.

She's having such a bad year.
Actually she's been having a bad five months minus fed cup.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2
Yep Since USO if you disclude fed cup things have been bad...I dunno what's wrong but I hope she comes out of it...she can clearly still play well because in doubles she has played some brilliant tennis, but in singles her confidence is so low

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2
I may be over thinking it here but when you take it to affect that she led 5-1 in the 3rd set of the Rogers Cup semis against Li Na. Ever since then she has had so much trouble closing out matches. I'll never forget that match. Never was I so conflicted. I was driving down to Cincinnati which was starting the next day. Had Lucie won that I wouldn't have got to see her...But I wanted her to win so bad.

Re: Lucie Safarova Cheering Thread - Volume 2
That was quite a heart-wrenching loss It may have an influence still...who knows. But if she doesnt get it together soon she is gonna take a big rankings hit. She is having so much trouble actually hitting winners...she just cant seem to put the ball away and finish the point. Sets it up, but ends up hitting right back to them, down the middle, or making an error....idk

I was in Cincy that weekend too, hoping I could see her there (but had to leave Sunday night). But this year I'm pretty sure she won't go that far in Rogers Cup again
I was even debating myself lately whether I should drive to Charleston for the championship weekend there cuz I love that city so so much and Lucie was in the final last year.
But man, how on earth will there be another final for her considering her recent form
