Haneke is an auteur, well respected in the industry, so it's understandable (haven't seen Amour yet though). But the other guy, who directed Beasts of the Southern Wild, was a completely random nomination. Affleck and Bigelow were more deserving!

Definitely agree about Beasts of the Southern Wild (also haven't seen Amour yet so I won't judge). Can't believe all the nominations it received! I mean it was really interesting and unique/powerful, but...Best Director?? Meh.

Apparently the Academy liked it more than ZDT and Argo I also want Chastain to win, even if I like Jennifer and won't mind her winning. Daniel Day-Lewis is a lock, so it's not even worth discussing

I'm 50/50 for Jennifer/Jessica. I personally enjoyed Silver Linings as a film more overall, but think Jessica's performance was stronger. And yeah, the Best Actor race (and Supporting Actress) is the most boring/predictable category . Supporting Actor could be good though with Waltz, Hoffman and Tommy Lee Jones. I hope Waltz gets it!

I also wouldn't mind Watts winning. She's great in her film and she got overlooked for the best performance of the last 20 years in my opinion (Mulholland Drive).
I'd love to see Waltz win again He's great in Django and he has a big role, which is an advantage, since the other nominees have more limited screentime in their respective films.
Anne has it in the bag, so no worries there

Chris lost, so it has no more meaning for me! I don't know those guys! Don't know who to vote for! Do we have a SS pick or something?

Daniel Day-Lewis winning 3 best actor Oscars is the biggest joke ever. It will of course happen though.

I haven't seen My Left Foot, for which he won his first. But he was amazing in There Will Be Blood. Mindblowing stuff from him in a three-hour-film. He's very good in Lincoln, but I'd love to see Joaquin Phoenix win. He was the best in the category this year!

What game style do you have/which player male/female do you resemble on court the most?

YES . Naomi's performance in The Impossible was one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen . I actually almost fainted at one point early on from the realism (you probably know which part I'm talking about). I wish her chances were higher this year but she's just been overshadowed

I really don't get all the hype about Lincoln. I think it's more because of who he played, rather than the performance itself.
