So, according to this, France is the worst of Western Europe along with UK, Spain and Portugal..... Italy is better? really?

Do people still get born in those countries? I thought all new residents are immigrants.

Re: A surprising map of the best and worst countries to be born into today
I feel like many generous Liberals countries are about to crash, Canada included.
Canada doesn't have the population/tax payers to support 250K new immigrants/year.
It will end badly.

Re: A surprising map of the best and worst countries to be born into today
This map just proves the classic dilemma we always get when we try to classify countries from poor to rich or from highly developped to least developped. There are so many different factors that play a role and need to be taken into account that every map who is only focusing on one aspect may lead to completely different results than maps who focus on other aspects.
For example you take one map where the countries are classified according to BIP measuring their economical power and the other one is listing them according to a social index like childhood mortality for example, both with the goal to show which countries are most developped.
You will see that you get 2 completely different maps, although both, the BIP as well as social factors are well-known indices for classifying a country's prosperity.
This one is mainly focusing on social injustice, therefore Eastern European countries with partly oligarchic structures do poorly. Take another indicator and you will get a different result. No biggie.
In my personal opinion there are more important determinants of countries you want to be born in than the one this map is presenting.

Basically, just move to Norway, become boring, pay more your tax and you'll live the life of mundane brillance.
