She does look a bit plump, too much for an athlete. But then again, Kvitova is also like that and she's a top player

Re: Womens Tennis in General, vol. 2
Fun facts before Petrova - Goerges
1) It's their first ever meeting.
2) Petrova just won her 2R doubles match 6-2, 7-6(4) and Goerges just lost her 2R doubles match with the exact same score, but they didn't play each other.

Re: Womens Tennis in General, vol. 2
Sori wins first set against Aga 7-6(3).
Aga drops a double break in the decider and they're now on serve again, from 5-1 to 5-4.
But Aga edges a 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 win.

Re: Womens Tennis in General, vol. 2
Kerber comes back from a double break deficit to beat Wickmayer 6-1, 7-6(4).
Petrova beats Goerges 6-1, 6-2! If Caro beats Vesnina, we'll see in next round if Sofia was a one-off or if this is another rivalry where the power balance has shifted against Caro.

Re: Womens Tennis in General, vol. 2
Caroline used to beat Nadia all the time. A test for how Caroline has fallen, or if she's on the road back, , and also, can Caro's coaches prepare her better than for Bulgaria

Re: Womens Tennis in General, vol. 2
Petrova will be the next Kuznetsova for Caro. In other words - a tough test! Last time they played Petrova has downed her with the very same score.

Re: Womens Tennis in General, vol. 2
Ula beats Hampton in straights.
Vika was in trouble against Flipkens but reeled off 9 games in a row from 3-6, 3-3.
It's only the 2nd Vika - Ula match, first was here in IW 2 years ago with Vika winning a tough 2-setter.
Barthel beats Ivanovic in 3 sets.
It's an interesting R16 line up.
V. Azarenka VERSUS U. Radwanska
N. Petrova VERSUS C. Wozniacki
A. Kerber VERSUS G. Muguruza
M. Barthel VERSUS S. Stosur
P. Kvitova VERSUS K. Zakopalova
M. Kirilenko VERSUS A. Radwanska
S. Errani VERSUS M. Bartoli
L. Arruabarrena VERSUS M. Sharapova
Except for two young surprise visitors from Spain, it's all good names. And the 19/20 yos have taken out some good players this tournament, so hopefully they can make a good account of themselves even against top 4 seeds.

Errani breaks Bartoli 7 times in a row to win 3 & 2. Impressive play. Her counterpunching is currently at a higher level than Caro's.

7 out of the top 8 seeds made it to the quarters in Indian Wells. It happened in Doha as well.
5 out of the top 8 seeds made it to the quarters in Dubai. Vika withdrew late from the tournament and Serena gave a walkover before her 2nd round match.

I'm eager to see a new Caro - Errani encounter so I looked up the match details from Beijing 10 (their last meet). Guess who won that match?
Rezai!

Re: Womens Tennis in General, vol. 2
WTA website is something else. They put Agniezska Radwanska as a winner of the AO this year.
