Say it again!!! And a lot of it is really the stupid ESPN idiots like Pammy Puke et al trying to convince fans that being hugely endorsed makes you more popular.
People become fans for the most part for what they see you do on court (and sometimes attitude will even get overlooked) I know on here is the exception since a lot are concerned with looks.
Vika IMHO can be marketed IF HER TEAM so desires. What happened at the AO is only dragged out by people looking for a reason to make more out of something that can be forgiven. YES even in America.
What I often find amusing though is the Maria only fans, seemingly guarded intent on KNOCKING down anyone they feel could cut into her share. Vika may not be that person but just like Kournikova, Maria will be dethroned. It's just the way the world works.
