Is Serena unbeatable if not injured?

This tournament showed how she dominated until her injury... she is playing the best she has ever played. Can she be beaten if healthy out of clay? I doubt.

Re: Is Serena unbeatable if not injured?

azarenka came VERY close to doing it at the US open final last year, so yes I think she can be beaten.

If shes not injured, and I don't pick her to win a tournament... then yes, unbeatable, perhaps.

Re: Is Serena unbeatable if not injured?

Yes she is, and she can also be unbeatable with injury. It's not her injury that makes her lose it's her focus and temperament that makes her sink.

definitely, physically the serena of today is not too far off from her 'peak' in the early 00s (maybe 80-90% of the player back then)

but mentally, its noticeable that she isn't as strong as even 3 years ago, there have been quite a few brainfarts and choking of leads at vital stages of big matches from her recently

Re: Is Serena unbeatable if not injured?

This is so obvious....i mean, last year she took it all and no one was close to her, she beat Azarenka. Maria, Radwanska, she beat top players...so yeah, no one can come near Serena...it s obvious

She's hard to beat, not unbeatable. The distinction seems to be hard for some people to grasp.

close to winning = still losing.

And the answer in yes. Lordrena gives peasants hope by playing like shit in big moments, but takes it away from them at the last moment.

At the Australian Open she definitely was

Anyway of course not, no one is unbeatable. She's just much harder to beat than anyone else on tour when she's fit, motivated, and playing without pressure.
