I think this was a huge shocker as everyone knew the head-to-head Maria has Na's #. But yesterday Na played tennis like a women possessed alright. She was hitting the ball so clean, so laser like with power I swear it was like watching an ATP match. Na would have beaten Serena or Vika easily too if she played like that.
If she can play like in the final..it's lights out for anyone not just Vika.

The match wasn't on Maria's racket. That's for sure. Plus in-form Li is a bad match up for her but many didn't expect Li to play this well so that's why most expected the more consistent player (Maria) to win this match.

I didn't say it was on Maria's racquet, I said she was the favourite. Although given the way Li was playing more high % yesterday it actually was, Maria playing poorly still had GPs in 8 games. When Li is bashing well she can hit anyone off the court and that's when she's a danger to Maria, that's not how she approached yesterday's match though. Although credit to her for sticking with it, she could have easily rushed more towards the end resulting in UEs and letting Maria back in.
