Martina is direct and if some believe that is arrogant or rude, it is their judgement and really has nothing to do with what was said. We don't even have a direct quote here, but it seems obvious to me that slam-less players should not be compared too much to players that have multiple major titles. This isn't rude, just obvious. Some of the posts in this thread are classic though, so keep it coming.

Re: Hingis - Compare Radwanska to me when she's won a slam
I don't think this comment is as 'shady' as people are trying to make it out as. She just wants Radwnanska to prove herself on the big stage before being compared to her; of course people will see it differently based on what she's said in the past though. She even said before the Wimbledon final that Radwanska plays more like her than anyone else on the tour, though.

Last year was her best so far, made a major F and won Miami, and she's already won 2 tournaments this year without dropping a set.
She's not my cup of tea, but what's your point? We can only compare major winners with major winners? Fun conversations those must be.
It seems like Hingis is bitter that her legacy is that of an underpowered defensive player (which isn't correct).

Radwanska isn't like her AT ALL. Their games aren't even remotely similar.

Martina is right if she did in fact say this, cause Radwanska is at the top of the rankings and plays a similar game as Hingis doesn't mean the comparison is exactly warranted. Especially if you're a 5x slam champ being compared to essentially a poor man's version of yourself.

I think they are somewhat similar, both lack power and horrid second serves that prevent them from achieving more than they have/had.
The difference is that a peak Hingis would be in control of a rally when facing almost any opponent; it was her opponent doing all the running in her matches. Radwanska IMO is much more comfortable being bossed around in a rally.

She certainly has a point. In fact, Radwanska would have to win more than one GS and be number one for a long period to start being compared to Hingins in terms of achievements.

Because "other player" hides her arrogance with fake humility, mockery and passive aggressiveness, Martina is and has always been direct.

I reckon Aga is much more quick and gets more balls back but Martina had GOAT defensive skills only matched with Clijsters' 2003-2005 form IMHO.

Re: Hingis - Compare Radwanska to me when she's won a slam
Did any of you watch the interview?
All Hingis did was praise Radwanska- how she'd improved and was the 'dark horse of the tournament'.
All she said was something like 'i'd like to see her win a slam before you compare us totally'.
Other than that one comment she had nothing but positive things to say about Radwanska. This board takes things out of context more then The Sun Newspaper
