Re: [WTA SAVED!] AO R4: Stephens d. Jovanovski 61 36 75
Great mental fortitude from Sloane in the end.
She just needs to work on continuing being aggressive in pressure moments, but that will come with experience.

Because Jovanovski was so close from being Slam QF (probably worst since USO2009)?

I don't like Sloane's personality
Everybody seems to love her but I think she is kinda cocky
and I couldn't stand her pushing thoughout this match

Am I the only person who doesn't think this is humorous? Sloane, your match was crap! No one wanted to see that.

Sigh. Don't you get tired going into every thread to say how not good she is? We get it, you don't think she has a bright future.

She also hit a few electric winners in tight moments. She's a teenager...the mental strength will develop with more matches at this stage in majors.

Good win for Sloane she really should have hit her way out of the 2nd set. Too much passive play from her but luckily Jovanovski missed enough to let Sloane back in the match.

She was just making fun of the fact that the match went longer/took more effort to close out than she had anticipated. People take her sarcasm as being literal far too often. Case-in-point: the Serena match when she talked about joking with Serena about grunting last night in her post-match interview.

That doesn't mean much IMO, I remember Wozniacki hit an amazing BH DTL winner in her 2009 USO match vs. Kuznetsova at 5-5 in the second set tiebreak.
The way she was hitting her groundstrokes in those last few games was incredibly passive. And she was playing Jovanovski, not a big name at all
