I actually think from watching her today and against Kimiko Date-Krumm, Jovanovski has a lot of talent. She hits very well on the run, which is a very valuable quality in the modern game, and she can rally well. Yes, she also has pretty good power, but a lot of girls on the tour have power. Power on it's own won't get the job done. She simply needs to avoid going for the glory shot so often. She needs to believe she can outlast players in longer rallies. With that knowledge will come the willingness to learn discipline. This is a girl who could benefit hugely from watching how Radwanska plays her game.
Her compact strokes are more meant for counterpunching but she is a ballbasher at heart. So you get messy performances (like 0-6 0-6 against Vinci) often
Yes. She needs to decide if she wants to be a player who rallies and keeps the ball in play and doesn't give up the cheap point or if she wants to be a ballbasher who hits more winners but makes a lot more errors too. She will be MUCH more successful if she choses the former path.
