Re: Angie's Mid-East / USA Spring '13
Angelique should have retired after 1st set. If you are only at 50 % makes no sense
It really was hard to watch. Angelique could not serve and was slow, let many balls pass

Exactly. Take the money, rest/recover and forget this match

Good draw, but we'll have to wait and see what's her status.

Re: Angie's Mid-East / USA Spring '13
She has lost the last match against Vinci. Third round sounds easier than her second round.

Germany’s Angelique Kerber, who was also present at the official draw, was wary of her chances in what should be an extremely tight competition. “I think it’s best to compete against the best players on the tour because that is the only way you can find out how good you really are,” the fourth seed said. “I intend taking things one step at a time.”
"My preparation was good and I'm feeling very good," the German said. "I'm just trying to improve my game and continue on my form from last year. I'm really looking from round to round and then we will see what happens."

Re: Angie's Mid-East / USA Spring '13
She will be playing doubles with Julia Görges in Dubai. R1 against Zhang/Husarova. R2 would be against the winner of Groenefeld/Peschke vs. Petrova/Srebotnik, so it probably won't be a long doubles endeavour though.

I think the second round is easier. She lost the last match against Stosur and Makarova, too. And Vinci's form is not so good like last year on the US Tour.

Re: Angie's Mid-East / USA Spring '13
Won their doubles 7-6 7-5. I think Angie's serve has improved a little compared to last week, but it's still not close to where she had it at the end of last year. Still has some problems with everything that involves raising her arms too far or having to scramble to a ball, but it's a good sign that there seems to be improvement.
Also her on-court personality was barely recognizable, haven't ever seen her this positive on a tennis court.
