Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013
followed the end only, when she had the 5-3 lead in third set, seems like it was an good match in general, Mladenovic was tough, as expected! But of course again those huge up´s and down´s, she cant improve when it is about making big points or staying mentally strong..
just brainless, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Checking the live score thread she was down 3-5 in 1st set, then 5-5 just to give her the break again..pathetic. 2nd set down a break before she is able to come back and then has all advantages in 3rd set obviously just to give it away again, that´s just idiotic!
4 tournaments played and so far in 2013 and she wasted big chances in all of her matches she lost...just bad
so annoyed, Julia is just

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013
She should have closed it out, yet I thought you cannot compare this performance to Hoogenkamp and other matches. She played well for the most part. She lost because of her weak first serve percentage at the end of the match.
Will be interesting to see if Mladenovic now gets chosen over Cornet. I don't think this would be good on clay but you never know.

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013
It was a good match against a good opponent until 5-3 30-0 in the 3rd. Yes, it was a horrible line call, but she still could have closed it out after that. But this was miles aways from the horrible performances she has shown in other losses against lower-ranked players.

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013
tbh I prefer bad matches as long as she wins
what´s the use of a good match when she loses in the end and gives away a *53 30-0 lead

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013
those comments arent that bad, just that she has to win such matches, that she will never be top 10 with such results, that it was totally unnecessary after leading 52..we all know that anyway..those defeats from Julia are annoying as hell

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013
Imo Julia didn`t play that bad. All credits to Mladenovic for her play and attitude but I still think that it was in Julia`s hands to take it, esspecially in the end.
A loss is a loss. And this was a bitter one for sure looking at the currency of the whole match. Not rarely Julia`s losses at times have this well known bitter taste.
It`s not necessary to make too much out of it.
But looking at her statements about the things that she wants to improve it`s exactly this what she was talking about. We and she herself have to take her on her own words.
So, still a long way to go (or probably not !?) for her and on to the next.

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013
It's nothing new that Julia has lost such matches. Remember the match last year in Paris against Zakopalova.

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013
my only German post for today, sorry
