Re: Anyone else drive their family mad with their tennis watching?

So far it hasn't but I couldn't imagine dating a Sharapova fangirl.

Re: Has the WTA fandom affected personal relationships?

There was this little basic bitch back in high school who was the ultimate "bandwagoner" that would root for every single person who is ranked number one at that time if their name wasn't Williams. It started with Ana and moved on to JJ, Sharapova, Caro, Kim, and lately before I finally got out of that dreaded concrete dungeon, Vika. Whenever Wimbledon blew around she'd root for Petra or anyone who played Serena in the draw. The problem with her was that she relentlessly never seemed to accept that her shit stank when I fought back with her. Ultimately, look at today. It was so funny looking back. It got heated a few times. Really heated sometimes. Every time Serena would win she'd accuse cheating or getting lucky, or...something else; and I'll never forget this encounter:

Australia 2009
Me: Hey! Did you catch that final last night? Pretty awesome stuff, huh?

Basic Bitch: No! It was an absolute mockery of tennis! I cannot believe that that COW would treat another player like that on the court!!!

M: Ummm....You mean Serena? What did she do...?
BB: She treated poor little Safina like a common punching bag! It was despicable! She needs to go have her head examined!
M: For what, exactly?
BB: For acting like a brute to everyone!
M: So...she should go to a shrink to get checked for...winning?
BB: It's the way that she does it! She's so relentless! I mean, honestly. How can the fans of this so called woman even call themselves tennis fans. They should go watch rugby or hockey instead. It would have less impactful brutishness than what happened to Dinara last night from that [bleep]!

**teacher overhears**...btw: The teacher's black...
Teacher: :O [Insert Basic Bitch's name here]!!!! Did you just say what I thought you said?
Me: Yep.

**while teacher escorts her to the office**
BB: I HOPE SHE BRAKES HER FUCKING LEG OFF AND NEVER STEPS FOOT ON A TENNIS COURT EVER AGAIN!!!!

Well, in the long-run, I win! And after that craziness happened, I tried to keep conversational interactions with her to a bare minimum. Talk about being impassioned...
