When there are two very similar forum names then picks have been accepted in the past when supported with a screen-shot. It isn't as though he sent to the completely wrong person, just to the wrong Ivanovic fan.

He asked in the "ask the board" thread and I told him to follow the rules. I don't know what the board thinks about this but I think we should follow the rules.
I always click on the recipient's name after I sent my picks to make sure that I sent to the correct person.
andyroddlick sent his picks to me for Q1 and they didn't count. That's a similar situation in my opinion.

Sending picks to Frederik when the OOP says Ivanovic_fan is a totally different situation to what we are talking about here. When you look at the managers usersname on the forum post, the underline masks the _. Yes Miguel has sent to the wrong Ivanovic fan but he shouldn't be penalised here. There are many situations in the past where TT players have sent to the wrong username (e.g. to Jose instead of Jose.) and these picks have been accepted with a screenshot.

with this in mind, i would say that Miguel's picks SHOULD be accepted. he has clearly tried to send to the right person and the screen does mask the underscore in the manager's user name, therefore it is understandable that he got it wrong.
(note, if the manager was Ivanovic_fan67, for example and Miguel had sent to ivanovic fan, then they would not have been counted.)

and this was a perfectly reasonable thing to do. i just think that in this case, it is stupid to have a hard and fast rule. a general rule exists, but there is some flexibility to it and i think the interests of fairness should be paramount.
btw, congrats for kicking my ass. i actually quite liked that diff as well
