I was expecting this comment and had just the same thoughts.
I remember watching Mary Pierce practise in Stuttgart a couple years ago. She was scheduled to play Jelena Jankovic as the featured night match.
Well, Pierce was smacking return winners left and right during her final practise minutes while Jankovic was already warming up. Quite interesting actually.

It's the first time I've seen this. I think it's a really cool addition.

Re: Practice Schedule for the Australian Open
In fact, Marion practiced 4 hours in a row as she hit the ball with Gilles Simon between 11:00 am and 12:00 am
http://www.fft.fr/les-francais-lopen...e-sur-la-vague

Re: Practice Schedule for the Australian Open
Funny that they practiced after Gilles complained that it was difficult to pratice in joint events and Marion said that he had to wake up earlier in the morning if he wanted a court

- Gilles : Tommy withdrew. Could you please hit the ball with me ?
- Marion : I started practice when you were still in your bed.....It's OK (after dad's agreement). But i don't want you to criticize female prize money anymore.
- Gilles : I promise....
