I really don't see how she plans to defend her AO QF unless she's been given an incredibly favorable draw.
Frustrating but that's what it you get for having an off-season like she did. You can't be a pro successful tennis player with 90% effort...either be all in or don't. Honestly, If the year continues like this I can see her retire after this year, maybe she'll come back in a few years.
Though Caro's early loss joy has jumped the shark for me, there isn't something lovely about Sveta getting a win over her, especially under the circumstances. I'm still pissed Sveta folded in those US Open matches. Hopefully this is a good sign from Sveta; if she gets her shit together she'll be a threat by Paris.

I really think the Moscow win is being a bit overrated. Those year-end tournaments often see different players do well as the level of commitment at the end of the season varies from player to player.
Caro saw the chance to get back into the Top 10 by winning Moscow so I think she had a bit more incentive to do well there than other players who had the off season already on their mind.
Look at Julia making the final at Linz and look at where she stacks up in the new season. It means very little, the way Caro has played this year shows nothing to be encouraged about, it's every bit as bad as during 2012 (the full year, not the last few weeks). She makes way too many errors and she's incredibly weak mentally.
5 wins in a row for Sveta
Great that Sveta beat Woz this time, especially that she was able to recover again in 3rd set!!
Kerber will be too much now probably after all these hard matches but already a great tourament.
