Re: WWW Hobart?
Wow, the seeds are all really close together in the rankings. #25-#38. Then Barthel and Shuai at 39 and 40.
The ten highest ranked players have only 15 places between them, which is unusual when the top seed is ranked #25.
I say it's too close to call.

Let's hope she will We'll see what she says after the final.
As for Shushu, I'm not scared about her match against Hsieh, the latter shouldn't cause her too much trouble, considering her current poor form.

Yes I was also going to point that out. I can't recall such a tight INT draw. Even if you go down the draw the 25th player (out of 28 direct entrants) is #68 Vesnina, with more than half ranking points of the top seed. That's unprecedented in an international.
(P.S. iinm a couple of players have withdrawn, but I haven't seen the revised draw)

Re: WWW Hobart?
Now that Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has decided to withdraw from Hobart, I would change my mind for Klara Zakopalova, 30, the most promising Czech player at the moment, or at least Shenzhen finalist 2013...

Re: WWW Hobart?
I don't mean to knock someone like Hsieh, but when she is the #1 seed, it's not the strongest field. These are the types of tournaments that produce winners like Arruabarrena-Vecino, Babos, etc. from last year. I'm going with Vesnina over Babos.

Re: WWW Hobart?
Stephens or Barthel, or maybe Shvedova if she remembers how to play tennis.
