Re: 2013 Cheering/Farewell/Hasta La Vista Thread

22 Winners and 14 Unforced Errors is the best I've seen from her in a long while...it's really nice to see her playing well for a whole match for once...

now good luck not being double bagelled by Vika

So happy
Her reaction after the match showed it meant a lot for her.

Re: 2013 Cheering/Farewell/Hasta La Vista Thread

Mostly good play by Flavia. But her serve ist still a mess and I think it has been like that all the way since her comeback.

Vika injured her knee in R1. Not saying Flavia has to win this now, but...

according to ANSA (Italian News Agency), despite her good win today, Flavia is thinking about retiring from professional tennis

Saw it on federtennis earlier.

Sounds like she doesn't want to retire but also doesn't want to be stuck in challengers.

i understand her and she is rite, she doesnt deserve to play in ITF, and i would totally support her if this is her decision, but still...it will be heartbreaking for me, i follow tennis just thank to Flavia.

Does she still have a PR? She should at least keep trying for the rest of the year.

Yes, I agree with you, mostly because she's been the reason why I started following this sport, but I also believe that she should have entered a couple of ITFs in the first days of her comeback, that would have boosted her confidence and made her game more secure...like Petkovic wanted to retire after the fail of FO qualies, entered Marsille and won it and now she's on a roll and Andrea has a much more limited game than Flavia

she has, so she's kind of secure to play big tournaments until the USO I guess

Andrea was criticized heavily for her schedule in her subforum, too. We all felt that she played Marseille way too late. But it turned out well for her in the end.
As for Flavia, I think smaller WTA tournaments would be good for her. That's why I was sad to see her pull out of Nuremberg. Strassbourg worked well, and I think she could have done almost as well there.

She's entered Palermo and then two strong HC tournament in the US, using her PR in the latter two cases.

Re: 2013 Cheering/Farewell/Hasta La Vista Thread

Although I wanted Flavia to win properly, I think we can say she deserved a bit of luck after all of her own struggles.
