^ I Agree she don't have time do too the fact young up comer like Sloane, Madison Keys, Laura Robson, Genie Bouchard, Donna Vekic, Monica Puig, & Anna Karolina Schmiedlová who all look like they will soon be top 10 players in next couple years and fighting for slams plus Vika & Aga will still be around my thing with Caro she need too make those improvement too take too the next level if she want too stick around and for next couple year in the top 10 and be talk about to as one those player to win an slam like I said a coach is needed. I remember back in 09 when she made her GS final and lost too Kim I said that how she should try and improve her game like Kim if she want too stick around and get back in the mix improvement must be made and coach must come in

Ah.

I think Caro is most aggressive against Cibulkova among those players.

Caro actually had 29 winners in a 3 set win over her (their last match btw).

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

One of Caro's problem also in matches like this is she gets into a role of just ball retrieving. This is what is making Caro easy to play in these matches. She doesn't really do anything to disrupt the rhythm of the opponent, she doesn't put them in awkward positions, she's giving them chances consistently and they are either good enough to take advantage or they're not.

This is what massively separates her from Aga when Aga would play this role in a match, Aga has lots of ways to disrupt the opponent, she's always putting them in awkward positions on the court.

I totally Agree & that What I saying, that somthing Aga has improve on so much since 2011 when she got an new coach and left her dad, Caro should try too do the same

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

I dont think Aga would have made the unforced errors Caro made.
Caro doesnt play big points well. I could see that over 2 years ago vs Vinci & Mchale when this started.
This looked the same way to me. She cant make these unforced errors at big moments.
This was a match where she would have to retieve. But she has to play at a decent level of tennis.

You cant look forward to when the tour sucks when you lose to the players Caro loses to the last 2 years.

Someone said her team looks satisfied? If her dad & team dont understand what a crisis her career is in, they are retarded

Caro was running on fumes at that tournament.

Caro's forehand, though not a strength, was typically at least somewhat better during that period than it is now.

But Bartoli will disappear, Maria's future is uncertain, Errani admits that she's finding it hard to deal with the pressure, Kvitova is in as big a mess as Caroline, Sam is declining and the others who are just below Caroline in the rankings are very inconsistent as well. On the other hand, Kerber seems to be recovering somewhat from her slump earlier this year, Jankovic is doing well again, Sloane will definitely be top 10 within the forseeable future, there's Halep who is making a big move and one of the other youngsters is likely to make a move fairly soon as well. My gut feeling is that it's more likely that Caroline will be ranked just outside the top 10 rather than just inside it after IW next year. Will Caroline get better? I doubt it. I think it's a bit unfair when posters suggest that she no longer cares or isn't working hard enough. I think that she is in fact working her butt off, but her primary focus seems to be fitness, and it's not that aspect of her game where she's struggling. Kvitova should do what Caroline is doing. Caroline should work more on technique and tactics in my modest opinion.
If Caro is primarily focusing her training on fitness, then should she spend more of her existing training time on technique instead or add some training time for more work on her technique?

What if Caro were to use down the line shots a lot?

Her backhand down the line made some errors this match, but her forehand was terrible as the 2nd set wore on.
This was a dream draw at her best major. She couldnt get thru week 1, which is how she plays at most majors.
So the idea that her team is thinking about winning majors is a farce.
She's a defensive player, no matter what else you try to do with her. You cant have a forehand that collapses during a match in week 1 at a major.
Its a pitiful result for everyone involved. Symbolic of Caro's 2013.
A defining match for the year
And leads to bigger questions: What now? Stay the course? Its 2 years of being levels below a #1 player.
Get desperate? Actually try a full time coach who has the power in the team? I dont think they want that

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

I cannot believe I actually agree with Matt Cronin. *sighs* But trying to win anything with her old retrieving game is not the way forward. There will always be an up and coming young starlet, who can hit the cover off the ball. That's how youngsters are trained and that's why Caro (despite progressing in her own mind) is going nowhere but backwards (relative to the other players).

There is only one solution left. Start swinging at the balls like everyone else. Caro doesn't have the skills of an Aga, so aggressive BB is her only chance of winning anything of note ever again.

Can she do it? Probably not. Her FH has been generally poor and spoken about in those terms for the last 5 years, so can she and will she at 23 years be able to change? .. Probably she will not and cannot anyway, so that's the end of it.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Whatever she does, her best skills are defense. But she hasnt improved anything else, and from the looks of it, her forehand is getting worse.
This slam draw was Q, Scheepers, Q.
And Caroline couldnt get thru that draw.
So they have some problems ahead. That forehand is #1 problem. Its an easy target for any opponent

I really think she's giving it all she's got and that it's time for us to accept the fact that she may simply not be good enough no matter how hard she tries. We had the "she should be more agressive" debate a few years ago and well, she tried and it was a disaster. I know that Caroline did beat Sloane ten days ago and that she has beaten Serena in the past and played her close a few times, but when I watched Serena vs Sloane yesterday one of the things that came to my mind was, "how will Caroline ever be able to compete with that?" The ball went back and forth over the net twice as fast as in any match with Caroline. Li Na as well. She played a tennis that's way above Caroline's current level. Can Caroline find a way to compete with these players when they are on? I don't know. The problem is that she's not only going backwards compared to other players. She's also going backwards compared to herself. 2010 Caroline had a better backhand and forehand and was mentally twice the player she is now.

I tend to agree. Its 2 years. This is her level. That she lost to a qualifier means Caro needed a good draw to get thru QUALIES, forget about getting thru the main draw.
her career is in trouble. Very possibly, all the good days are past.
But she is working hard, so its not like she gave up. Her game fell off while a lot of players are improving

But I will always feel that anyone hanging around the adidas team is throwing their career away. Just like Pavs
