The number of BYEs depends on how big the tournament is and they are normally given to the ranking of the players seeded in the tournament. Brisbane is a Premier, so it only has two BYEs.

I genuinely think Petra is going to win Sydney and then reach the AO finals
and, not just because Vika + Rena are in the Brisbane field, but I wish Masha had played Sydney instead - but there is less rest time before the AO

I think Serena's winning both Brisbane and AO, which is fine, because she's an amazing player, but it gets boring after a while.

Maria will arrive in Brisbane on Saturday, December 29. She will have at least 2 days of practices before her first match with most likely a top 30 player.

Eurosport and WTA haven't renewed their relationship for 2013, so there won't be wta tennis on ES anymore. In Italy we have Supertennis, which will be showing WTA tennis, starting from the QF in Brisbane! I don't know what's happening in Russia, but I'm sure we'll find streams online for most of the matches!
